Refunct

Refunct

Refunct is a very small game that is oddly soothing and very enjoyable. We'll have to do 3 playthroughs, but the entire completion will easily take under an hour. It's a first person platformer with the goal of pressing buttons until the whole world is revealed.

Controls

cn_R1 - Jump

cn_L1 - Slide

cn_LS - Movement

cn_RS - Looking

As you can see, it's an extremely simple game

First Playthrough

Our first playthrough will be a slower run of the game where you turn every single platform into a color by stepping on them and collecting all of the cubes. You can still travel the world once you finish by stepping on the gold button, so don't panic if you missed a cube or don't have 100% Refunct by the end. You'd just have to search for them.

Simply make sure to step on every single piece of land before you press each button, because you must give them all color to reach 100% Refunct. You can see your percentage of Refunct by pausing.

Including the platform that the button is on, here is what % of Refunct you should have at each button:

  • Button 1 - 2%
  • Button 2 - 5%
  • Button 3 - 8%

On your way to the fourth button, you should see a strange black glowy cube. These will be our collectibles. There are 18 cubes in total. Upon grabbing this first cube, you will unlock:

Second Playthrough

We will begin our speedrun now. You must complete the entire game within 4 minutes. This is up to trial and error, but some strategies help. First, if you mash cn_R1 as you spawn, it will launch in the air straight up to the where you can grab onto the first button platform. Avoid water as much as possible, it slows you down. You going through tubes is slower than just running past them. You can jump on land as it spawns to skip a few areas. Just keep trying, remember the routes, and develop some of your own methods to complete it. You'll get it eventually.

Upon beating it under 8 minutes, you will earn:

Third Playthrough

The third playthrough will be slow and calculated. You will need to make it all the way to the gold button while only reaching 33% Refunct. First, you'll want to do the spawn jump, so that you only touch one piece of land at the beginning. Now, just take it slow and look for the best routes. Commonly, you can swim to avoid land, then jump up near a button. Don't touch any land, if not necessary. You can use the pole holding the button and the 2nd tallest pole next to it to climb up. This will allow you to only touch 1 or 2 pieces of land at the end. Take it slow, because speed gets you nothing. Once you pull it off, you will unlock:

Will you come back?

Finish Refunct under 33%

Will you come back?
