The Wolf Among Us (PS3)

Hi everybody, and welcome to the The Wolf Among Us walkthrough.

This walkthrough will go through all of the episodes of the game, explain what actions must be taken to get through the story and to 100% the game. There is one missable trophy per episode, they are mentioned during the episode walkthroughs but they are also gathered in a spoiler-free fashion at the end of the walkthrough.

If you read more episodes of the walkthrough, you may notice that the first two episodes are written in a different fashion than the others. This is because this walkthrough was transported over from TA and my predecessor wrote those two episodes. Without trying to be mean, I feel more comfortable with my writing style (it being more to the point) and will re-write those two episodes once the PS4 version goes on a sale and I can play the game again. However, I thought it better to have the walkthrough published now. Better to have a walkthrough that will be improved upon than having no walkthrough at all, right?

Anyways, without further delay: I hope you enjoy this game, and I hope this walkthrough helps you on the parts where you get stuck. Game on!

A few hints and tips for this game:

As with the other Telltale Games games, this one is a point-and-click episodic adventure with few missable trophies. Each episode has one missable trophy, this is linked to "collectables", Fable Entries. At the end of this walkthrough is a page with information about the missable trophies, written in a safe way for those who just want to check what they could miss and then play for themselves.

During this game, you will make a lot of conversation choices, many of which will alter your game experience in some way or other. Choose what you think is right, whenever a trophy depends on it it's written in the final page of the walkthrough, but you can easily reload a chapter so there's no worry about missable stuff.

Technically, two playthroughs are required since the first three episodes require different choices to be made to gather the missable trophies. However, since this game has chapter select this won't be much of a bother.

Have fun!

Below is the story walkthrough for Episode 1: 'Faith'. The game-changing decision percentage was based on my last playthrough (10/15/13).

Also, note: many spoilers ahead.

Part 1: Welcome to Fabletown

This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock the achievement within 10-15 minutes of gameplay.

There will be a very short introduction where you will then proceed to go to an apartment. And... what happens in the apartment, stays in the apartment. Once you go outside, and...

  • More precisely, after Bigby lights the cigar, the achievement will unlock.
  • The game-changing decision will be whether or not to give Faith the money.
  1. 88.6% of players gave Faith their money.

You enter a Tentement -- it's Toad's. (A Book of Fables entry will unlock; see below.)

Toad: Bigby, do you know how much it costs to have a family in glamour?

Your choices -

X... I don't make the rules - "Mr. Toad will remember that" will pop up on the screen

A... Saying nothing

B... Get it fixed

Y... Not my problem

--

You enter on an... unfortunate scene. A few unfortunate obscenities are used, and...

For every option you can choose from, he only gets madder (this is true for most of the dialogue with the Woodsmen)

X... What are you doing here?

A... Say nothing

B... Alright, why'd you hit her?

Y... Everybody calm down!

Woodsman: "What are you gonna f###in' do about it, eh? Get the f### out of my way or you're going to get the axe again."

X... This is your last warning

A... Say nothing

B... You're drunk...

Y... [threaten him]

You then proceed to fight with 'Woody' and it ain't so pretty. He spouts out some inaudibles... they're pretty nasty. You can respond:

X... Say that word again.

A... Say nothing

B... SHUT UP!

Y... Be nice, or I'll I make you wait outside.

Following your dialoge with Woody, talk to the female person that you have rescued whose name is Faith.

X... What happened?

A... Say nothing

B... What are you doing here? - You will be met with the response 'these lips are sealed'

Y... You need to leave

You proceed talking to her and Woody attacks you.

You're now outside, on top of a car and Frog will come and speak to you. The Woodsman is nowhere to be seen.

You talk to Frog; you can be a dick or apologize.

--

Faith comes - she attacks Woody after you meet him again. He has a huge hole in his head. You go talk to her (refer to the game-changing decision of the chapter).

Part 2: Wolf in Sheriffs Clothing

This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock the achievement around an hour into gameplay.

After you go up to your apartment following your meeting with Faith, and having an odd dialogue with your pet pig (one of the three 'little' pigs perhaps?), Bigby's love interest 'Snow' will go up to your apartment in the middle of the night. She has something 'startling to tell/show you.' More precisely...

  • Once Snow and Bigby walk into the elevator, the achievement will unlock.
  • The game-changing decision will be whether or not to tell Beast the 'truth' about Beauty.
  1. 60.4% of players lied to Beast and said that they hadn't seen Beauty.

Note: not much story-related, relevant dialogue was present.

Part 3: The Long Goodbye

This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. The achievement will unlock with less than two hours of gameplay.

After you exit the elevator, there will be a murder for you to solve. There hasn't been a murder in Fabeltown for quite some time, so this is odd. After the long, drawn-out dialogue, and...

  • After Bigby finishes investigating the crime scene of the murder, the achievement will unlock.
  • The game-changing decision will be whether or not to help Lawrence or Toad first.
  1. 76.5% of players went to help Toad before Lawrence

You've gone out and investigated the murder. At this point, there hasn't been much of any important dialogue.

Snow asks why someone did this:

X... Someone brought her here

A... Say nothing

B... This is a message

Y... I don't want to say yet

Part 4: The Frog or the Prince

This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. The achievement will unlock within two hours of gameplay.

Bigby will then proceed to go into Icabod Crain's office - who runs the 'business office'. You will have a conversation with Crain, Snow will get Crain's 'massage' worked out; Bigby will investigate various books on Fable's, and...

  • After your decision between Toad or Prince Lawrence is made, the achievement will unlock.
  • Spoiler: The game-changing decision is related to the death of Prince Lawrence, or the break-in at Toads. If you go to Toad's, Lawrence dies... if you go to Lawrence's... Toad still lives.

You go to Icabod Crane's office and there's some irrelevant chatter. Then, you talk to a magic mirror (think mirror, mirror on the wall.) Bigby's pissed at the mirror, he says: "Mirror, mirror... you're... able... tell me all about this fable"

The mirror: "See, was that so hard?"

--

Mirror: Of which Fable do you wish to know? (Choose one)

1. Woodsman

2. Snow

3. I don't know her name

4. Bufkin (the green thing)

He goes on about each of them... very interesting if you haven't read Fables, or know nothing of Fairy Tails -- Toad calls - it sounds urgent. You go outside; at this point - you choose.

Part 5: Panic in the Parlours

This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. The achievement will, again, be unlocked within three hours of gameplay.

  • Once you leave Toad's and meet Dee and Dum, the achievement will unlock.
  • The big 'choice' for this chapter will be who you nominate as your prime suspect, there are five suspects:
  1. Prince Lawrence - 4% of players suspected him.
  2. The Woodsman - 17% of players suspected him.
  3. The Tweedle Brothers - 12% of players suspected him.
  4. Faith's pimp - 22% of players of players suspected him.
  5. Bluebeard - 16% of players of players suspected him.

The story is tailored if you go to Lawrence's or Toad's first.

At Toad's, you investigate a break-in. He's mad --- he tries to cover something up. It's pretty interesting, in my opinion.
You go to Lawrence's - he's about dead; you have one attempt to ask him a question:

X... Did you hurt Faith?
A... Say nothing
B...Who did this to you?
Y... Who did this to you?

Part 6: The End of the Game

This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. The achievement will unlock when you complete the game.

You will go to a bar to talk to someone; you'll run into a bit of a problem. After you complete the fight and...

  • Once you go back to your condos and the cutscene hits, the achievement will unlock.
  • The game-changing decision will be who you arrested after the fight - the Woodsman or the Tweedle brothers.
  1. 67.7% of players made sure the Tweedle brothers didn't get away.

You go to a bar to talk, but you don't get information and you get attacked.

Now, on to the dialogue... you see Woody.

Woody: "You're out of paper towels." (He notices Bigby; sits down)

--

X... Saved your beer

A... Say nothing

B... Just gonna sit down...

Y... #1 or #2

(If you chose Y...) Bigby: For your sake I hope it was number 2. Otherwise, you're probably s####in' your pants right now.

--

Below is a pretty funny line that I encountered while playing the game.

Bigby: "Gimme a Midas' Gold"

Bartender Lady: "You want a lime?"

X... "Sure" she responds: "I think they have some at a bar down the street."

B... "No" she responds with something like: "Well, I ain't got any"

You have a squabble with the mad patron to your right. You go to Woody.

Woody apologizes for the fighting they have been doing for many years. He explains his actions in regards to the now-deceased Faith. He finishes with justifying his actions in Little Red Riding Hood.

X... What are you talking about?

A... So, this was a robbery?

B... Say nothing

Y... I'm taking you in

He gets mad... the two other people turn into fat monsters.

The other male attacks you and you turn into a wolf.

--

Now comes the game-changing decision.

X... [tear his arm off]

B... [walk away]

(Note: this happened in my story playthrough) You go back to your apartment to find Snow, dead... she had died by the same hand.

You see previews for the next four episodes...

Thanks to centerstrain01 for the video, detailing the many choices you can make:

This achievement is 99% story-related. At the end of the last part of the episode (the bar fight) you can choose to either rip the monster's arm off or leave it. When you are finished with your first playthrough, go in and rewind the story to the last chapter (I recommend using another save file), if you previously chose to rip the monster's arm off, leave it; if you chose to leave it, rip it off.

And congratulations, you have completed Episode One of The Wolf Among Us.

owdy and welcome to the walkthrough for The Wolf Among Us: Episode 2. This isn't a walkthrough per-say, but a guide to allow you to get your way through this excellent episode. Unlike the first episode, I cannot provide great detail in regards to how to unlock the different achievements because it would spoil the story.

There are around 8 Book of Fable entries in this episode, and all but three are unmissable. When there is a missable Book of Fable entry, I have put how to obtain it after the achievement associated with the episode's description.

Story related and cannot be missed. Upon exiting the police station and concluding your interview, this achievement will unlock. I suggest playing it safe in regards to Crane, as he will matter in the near future (i.e. the end of the episode).

The pivotal decision will come into play when you are driving with Crane after he assists you.

Pivotal Decision: How did you respond to Crane about Snow's death?

65.2% of players sympathized with him.

34.8% of players did not sympathize with him.

Story related and cannot be missed. After going back to 'headquaters' and doing what needs to be done, this achievement will unlock.

The pivotal decision will come into play when you go down into the basement and are presented with either Tweedledee/The Woodsman. How you treat your suspect (which is a Book of Fables entry) while you interrogate him is the pivotal decision in this chapter.

Pivotal Decision: How did you treat the murder suspect?

65.1% of players persuaded him to talk

34.9% of players were too kind

There are two Book of Fables entry that is missable in this chapter, both of which have to do with how you interrogate your suspect:

When you're interrogating Tweedledee/The Woodsman, play bad cop first; after unlocking the entry unlocks, rewind the chapter and then be nice to him.

Tweedledee (Bad Cop)
- Smash the bottle
- Steal the money
- Burn him with the cigar
- Punch Crane

Tweedledee (Good Cop)
- Offer drink
- Drop the money
- Offer cigar
- Stop Bluebeard from beating him

Woodsman (Bad Cop)
- Smash the bottle
- Burn him with the cigarette
- Punch him
- Punch Crane

Woodsman (Good Cop)
- Offer drink
- Offer cigarette
- Question him with "I understand what you're feeling."
- Stop Bluebeard from beating him

  • Sisters

Completed Chapter 3 of Episode 2.

    Sisters
Offline Mode - These trophies require play in game modes that do not require a connection to any live services, such as Play Station Network.Single Player - These trophies can be obtained by a single player.Main Storyline - These trophies are gained automatically by progressing through the main game mode.

Story related and cannot be missed. Find out the identity of the troll and this achievement will be yours.

The pivotal decision will come into play when Bigby is angry, and goes down to the Trip Trap bar. Snow is in danger, so you will have to decide whether to let her come with you or not.

Pivotal Decision: Did you let Snow come with you to the Trip Trap?

92.8% of players allowed her to make her own decision

7.2% of players did not allow her to make her own decision

There is one missable Book of Fables entry in this chapter:

After interviewing Toad Jr., Snow White will ask you to investigate the body. Instead, tell her that you want to look around a bit more and go to the Magic Mirror. Talk to it and ask about what Toad and Toad Jr. were looking at. This is a rather interesting chapter, so I would suggest to explore more dialouge options.

Story related and cannot be missed. After you come across Beauty, this achievement will unlock.

The pivotal decision will come into play when you go the Pudding and Pie strip club, looking for Crane. How you deal with Georgie and his things will become the pivotal decision in this chapter.

Pivotal Decision: How did you handle Georgie Porgie?

72.8% of players did not hit him

27.2% of players hit him

Story related and cannot be missed. After finishing up investigating the grotesque scence at the motel, this achievement will unlock.

Pivotal Decision: There is no pivotal decision in this chapter.

Finish the episode for this achievement to unlock. It should unlock after you finish up with the motel scence, and the "next on..." scence is played.

All in all, this episode was about an hour and fourty-five minutes. I hope you enjoyed it!

- Walk to the left

- Look at Offering Table

- Read the leftmost card, which unlocks a Fable Entry

- IF YOU TAKE TOO LONG, SNOW WILL FINISH HER SPEACH AND START TALKING TO YOU BEFORE YOU GET TO READ THE CARD

Some stuff will happen, you'll have to make a conversation choice, and some more stuff will happen. You'll get into a conversation with Greenleaf. MISSABLE TROPHY: During this discussion, Snow will mention the tree has to be destroyed. There's a Fable Entry that unlocks when you burn the tree, there's an Entry that unlocks when you don't burn the tree. You'll have to choose one and then rewind the chapter to get the other choice and other Fable Entry. You can do this right away or somewhere afterwards. Note that if you never pick a conversation option that mentions destroying the tree yourself, you won't get the option to burn the tree.

Afterwards, you'll exit the apartment, and continue into the final chapter.

Chapter 6

You'll be at the Pudding & Pie. You'll get an extended scene with conversation choices. After a while, you will move outside. You'll have a conversation with three new people. Prepare for a sequence with several quick-time events. Afterwards, you'll get a choice about either killing someone or letting him go. After that, there's one more QTE and one conversation choice. If you've already gotten all the missable Fable Entries, then now the final one will unlock.

The rest of the episode will play out automatically.

Chapter 1

You'll begin this episode in your apartment, once again in the company of both Dr. Swineheart and Snow. You'll have a conversation, and you'll have a conversation with the two, during which you'll also get some quick-time events to fix your arm. IF YOU'RE GOING FOR THE MISSABLE TROPHY, YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE THE LUCKY PAWN FIRST

Chapter 3

We're going for the missable trophy, so our chapter 3 is the Lucky Pawn.

At the Lucky Pawn, you'll get into an conversation with Toad and Jack. Afterwards, you can look around the shop.

- LOOK AT PIN CUSHION FIRST FOR THE MISSABLE TROPHY, after this all other Fable Entries will unlock automatically

At the end of the fight, the conversation will continue, and will end with you going outside. Have a parting conversation with Woody, and it's off to the butcher's.

Chapter 6

You'll have a conversation with Tim in a hallway, and you will end up in a room with a bunch of people. If you have been paying attention to the missable fable entries, you will get the missable trophy right now.

This chapter consists of only quick-time events until you end up at the Pudding & Pie.

- Enter front door

Chapter 3

- Go to the doorway

You'll enter a conversation with Georgie if you jumped on the Crooked Man's limo in chapter 2 - the conversation will be with Georgie and Vivian if you jumped on their car in chapter 2 (it won't change much in the end though). In the end, you'll have to decide what to do with Georgie, and then it's off to the Metalworks.

Outside the Metalworks:

- Enter the door (this becomes a QTE)

Inside a hall:

- Enter the door

Inside a large room:

After a short conversation, you'll enter a long QTE fight.

IF YOU'RE GOING FOR THE MISSABLE TROPHY, DO NOT PICK [HIT HER]

If you didn't pick [hit her], the one missable Fable Entry of this episode will be unlocked.

You're going to be in a long QTE session again, occasionally you may have to move around a bit on your own, until the proper fight begins.

Chapter 4

First, one QTE. Then you'll get into a conversation with the Crooked Man, which ends in another QTE. At the end, you can either choose to kill him now, or take him with you. Killing him will lead to some more QTEs. Either way, you're taking him with you to the business office.

Chapter 5

You're at the Witching Well. This chapter is a long conversation with the community, and whatever your choices, the end result will be the same. If you haven't killed the Crooked Man yet, in the end you'll have three different ways of dealing with him. If you've killed him in the previous chapter, you'll throw his body down the witching well.

Chapter 6

This chapter consists of conversations between you and a couple of people. There's choices to be made that will be shown on the final tally, but they've got no consequences - at least not during this final episode. If you have gotten the missable Fable Entry, the missable trophy will unlock after the pickup truck leaves for the Farm.

After your final choice, you have completed The Wolf Among Us.

If you did get all the Fable Entries already, the platinum trophy will unlock as well.

If you already played through the game once and are now doing these missable trophies, the last one will net you the platinum trophy as well.

  • Full Moon

Earned every Trophy in every episode of The Wolf Among Us.

    Full Moon
Platinum - These trophies require you to obtain all other trophies within the base game.

Episode 1

Near the end of the episode, you get into a fight. At the end of the fight, you need to make a choice - walk away, or do something else. Either option leads to a different Fable entry; simply replay afterwards and pick the option you previously didn't pick.

Episode 2

There are three missable Fable entries, two of which depend on a choice like the two from the first episode.

In Chapter 2, you interrogate someone. Who exactly, depends on a choice you made in the first episode. There's one Fable entry for playing good cop, and one for playing bad cop.

If your suspect has a beard: there's two items you can pick up, both have a good or bad use - use both items. You can either hit him as bad cop, or tell him you understand what he's feeling as good cop.

If your suspect is beardless: there's three items you can pick up, all have a good or bad use - use all items.

After this, after the good cop options you should stop someone from beating on the suspect, or as a bad cop you can opt to punch someone else yourself. Do the bad cop route for one Fable entry and replay with the good cop route for the other.

Episode 3

There's a bunch of missables in this episode:

In chapter 2, opt to not interrupt the ceremony, and walk to the table with items and check the items to get a Fable entry.

At the end of chapter 3, there are three places you could visit - an apartment, offices, or a bar. Go to the appartment first, and check out a golden statuette for a Fable entry. After the apartment, go to the offices before going to the bar to get another Fable entry.

In chapter 5, you have the option to either destroy an item or not. As with the previous episodes, both choices unlock a different Fable entry so choose one first then replay for the other.

Episode 4

The first time you don't have to replay an episode to get all entries.

At the end of chapter two, you have to choose one of two locations to go to. Choose the Pawn Shop first; you will go to the other one afterwards. Once in the Pawn Shop, examine the pin cushion in one of the display cases for a Fable entry. If you've gone to the pawn shop before going to the other places, all other Fable entries will unlock for you by going through the story.

Episode 5

Just one single missable Fable entry this time.

In chapter 3, when walking through an almost abandoned factory, you'll find yourself in a small room, where you can examine a workbench. Doing so will bring up a conversation with someone, with the conversation choices being two talking options, one action option, or - as always - silence. Any option that is not the action option will net you the Fable entry.
