There are 15 Mechanic's Manuals required to max out the Gizmo Supermo points (20 points is the maximum):
Step 1. Most of these come from completing the The Lair of the Lost Lord DLC quests and clearing all 100 floors of the Labyrinth.
Step 2. There are three remaining manuals that require you to visit certain NPCs (marked by a ! on the map) to obtain. Two of these can be found in BoardLeaf at the Cradle of Wisdom and Testing Floor. The final manual is found by returning to the new DLC area you visit during quest 185 Family Ties (unmarked entrance, left of the Forest of Niall, under the arching branch). Follow that map through to the second section to find the NPC.
Note that step 2 should be done after competing the DLC side quests and Labyrinth to ensure the NPCs are there. Also, you will need to take the manuals to one of the Training Grounds at Evermore for the Trophy to pop.
