The main key here is stealing.

You want to knock the ball loose and dive for it with the cn_S button. Obviously the best case is you knock the ball from the opposing basket towards your basket.

If you manage to get the ball on the dive, you will end up in a seated position with the ball. If you think you are close enough, take the shot. I've taken a few shots while seated now and have not sensed any timing or skill too it.
I just got lucky and the first one I ever tried made it.

D72shadowDoes this have to be in a real full game? I did it in the park on my first try and it didn't pop.

LoomingLuckI got it in a MyCareer game. If did not pop in park I assume it needs to be in a regular game.

Anon_Amus777You can adjust your sliders so it's more likely that you make the shot once you have the ball, the hard part is diving on the ball and not getting wrapped up in a jump ball.
