This is just a suggestion but it worked very well for me : play this level normally and only if the alien finds you (you are supposed to die in this fact), just press the "Options" button of your controller and load your last save and retry. Not very difficult as there is also a short scene when the alien catch you before you die... It simply gives you another chance.
