All that this trophy requires the player to do is to play through the case until they reach a conclusion. It doesn’t matter if the conclusion is wrong, or if there is still evidence to find, suspects to question or locations to search. As long as you pick a conclusion and a moral choice before accepting your decision, you will be awarded this trophy for completing the case.
The following walkthrough is a complete guide to all of the necessary evidence, conversations and deductions that you will need to make to come to the correct conclusion. There are other objects to inspect, but I’ve ignored them for the purpose of this walkthrough. Although I’ll guide you to the correct conclusion, I also include all of the incorrect conclusions too.
After the cut-scene ends and Mycroft has left, there are no locations on your map. To continue, you must walk over to the door of the flat and open it. The next cut-scene will take you to
Evesham.
Walk onto the station platform, turn left and walk along the rail tracks until prompted to press

. In the highlighted area, look at the glowing Railway Sleepers, followed by the glowing Rails. To the side of the track is a glowing area of Ground Near the Rails, with an Empty Bottle next to it. Head back to the Ticket Office on the station platform and enter the office area. Inspect the office table on the left side to pick up the Telegram. Pick up the Train Composition too.
Head back out onto the platform, walk past the Station Master and enter the Waiting Room. Take the framed Railway Map that is on the wall opposite the station clock. Return to the Station Master and talk to him to complete his character portrait.
• Fully Grey Hair on the left side of his head
• Honorary Badge on his jacket
• Spots of Earth on his left cuff
• Wedding Ring on his left hand
Ask all of the possible questions. There’s nothing more to be done here for now, so travel to the new location of
Bridlington.
Enter the station Waiting Room and walk through the door on the left marked Private. Press

when prompted. Your attention will be drawn to the Prototype Insurance Policy that has fallen down a gap in the floorboards. Talk to the Station Master of Bridlington to get the next character portrait:
• Young Age on his face
• Clean Clothes on his tie
• Instructions in the right jacket pocket
• Ink Smudges on his right hand
Ask every question that is possible. When asking about “Anything unusual yesterday”, select
Rookie station master as the correct answer. Return to the Waiting Room to find the Angry Passenger stood by the ticket window. Talk to him to complete his character portrait:
• Workclothes on his shirt
• Cheap Ticket in the left pocket of his jacket
• Married ring on his left hand
• Rough Skin on his right hand
Ask the Angry Passenger all of the possible questions before talking to Mr Robinson, who is sat on the chairs. He becomes your fourth character portrait:
• Australian Hat
• Expensive Clothes on his waistcoat
• Heavy Gold Ring on his left hand
• Crocodile Skin shoes
Ask Thomas Robinson all of the possible questions. Now you can open the deduction board to make your first deduction. Connect

Rotate the green canister so that it lines up with the orange canister on the right side:
Rotate the centre canister so that it lines up like this:
Finally, rotate the first canister so that the line appears in the window:
You’ll pull some contracts out of the bag that you will need to inspect with the magnifier. Each contract will have two similar phrases on it:
exclusive sales contract and
Mr Thomas L. Robinson. These phrases need to be underlined on each contract. The game highlights the correct text in red if you are struggling to find it.
The contracts allow you to make two more deductions in the deduction board. Connect

There is nothing more to be done here, so travel to
Chesterfield to follow the lead with the Telegraph. Enter the Waiting Room and take the door on the right into the Ticket Office. Talk to the sleeping Station Master of Chesterfield for your fifth character portrait.
• Red Nose
• Clean Clothes on his right shoulder
• Married ring on his left hand
• Alcohol Flask in the pocket below his left hand
• Fishing line in his left jacket pocket
Ask all of the possible questions. When asking about the “Strange message”, select
Binge drinking as the correct answer. This answer will allow you to form another deduction on the deduction board. Connect

Walk onto the station platform and head left towards the Left Luggage room. You’ll need to unlock the door to get in as the Station Master is in no fit state to open it. In this puzzle we’re leaving the centre roller as it is. Rotate the green roller so that it fills the window:
Now we need a different perspective. Hold down

and rotate the entire lock until you see this:
Finally, rotate the orange cylinder so that it lines up with the other two:
Enter the room and press

to see some Traces on the floor. Inspect these marks and lift up the Sack to find the Bottles. Then inspect the Instruments to the left of the Sack. Return to the Station Master to ask him two more questions. You won’t get much further with him, so go back onto the platform and enter the Warehouse on the far left of the platform. Inspect the Handcar Wheelbase to trigger a conversation with Watson. Open the deduction board and connect
No traces of train with
Spare parts of handcar. Clicking on this latest neuron will trigger the Fake Train Experiment.
Pick up the Wooden Board and attach it to the Wooden Base (A). Attach the Hand Mechanism to the Hand Mechanism Joint (B). Attach the Small Gear to the Small Gear Housing (C). Then attach the first Wheel to the Wheel Axle (D).
Rotate the Hand Cart 180
o to be able to add the final two pieces. Attach the second Wheel to the Wheel Axle (E). Finally, attach the first Brakes to the Brakes Joint (F).
Once this is done, re-enter the Warehouse and pick up the Fire Extinguisher on the table underneath the window to the right. Pick up the Long Pole that is propped up against the clock (it was in between the Hand Mechanism and the Small Gear before you picked them up). Inspect the Train Spare Parts to the right of the brazier to find the Train Steam Whistle and the Headlight with Dynamo Machine. Go back to the tracks and inspect the Railway Handcar. Add all four of the parts to the cart. Pump the Extinguisher, Blow the Train Steam Whistle and then Push the Handcar Lever to get another deduction.
Open the deduction board to connect

Spare parts of handcar. You need to find a more detailed map of the area, so head around the side of the Warehouse to the taxi cart that is waiting outside. Click on the back of the cart to search for an Old Map. Ignore the similar looking layout that it is the left of the area in which you start and scroll downwards instead. Match the map with the area below to open three more areas to search.
Return to
Evesham first. Walk past the Warehouse, down the steps at the edge of the platform and enter the wooden gate on your immediate left. Examine the Remains of Building to realise that an entire warehouse has been dismantled. Walk towards the vehicle tracks and activate

when prompted. Examine the Heavy Vehicle Traces and measure the distance between them. You will need to measure from the middle of each track and not from the edge. If you measure edge to edge, you will likely get “Nothing to see here” repeatedly. Examine the Heavy Vehicle Traces again.
Go back to the station platform and speak to the Station Master again to ask him one final question.
Travel to the
Railway Switch. Investigate the Rail Switch that is next to the railway junction, underneath the Chesterfield/Bridlington sign. Turn around and investigate the Information Sign at the side of the railway branch. Trigger

to get a new location.
Head to the
Mines. Propped up against the fence on the left of the track is a Fallen Sign. Pick up the Board and put it back in its rightful place in between the other two boards. Then use Watson’s handkerchief to wipe off the dirt. You’re at a mine belonging to the WEA Coal Company.
Examine the Vehicle Traces to the right of the signpost. Measure the distance between them (middle to middle again) and then examine the Vehicle Traces. Examine the Wooden Beam to the right of the screen.
Approach the rail tracks and follow them to the right. Trigger

when prompted to reveal some Screws that had been left behind when the rails were removed. Keep following the tracks until you approach the rock fall at the mine entrance. Use

again to reveal a Strange Box hidden in the rubble. Examine the item and pull the Paper aside to reveal sawdust underneath. After the package is placed back in the rubble, press

to bring up the iron sight on the gun and line that up with the bottom of the package. Fire the gun to come to another deduction.

On this lock, we’re going to leave the third cylinder (C) where it is. Rotate cylinder D to line up with cylinder C on the right:
Rotate the centre cylinder, E, so that it lines up with C and D:
Rotate cylinder A so that it lines up with the two windows in the centre of the lock.
Finally, rotate cylinder B to complete the circuit.
Now you need to use a telegraph to contact Mycroft. There’s a telegraph at every station, but you may as well carry on to
Station (Doncaster) to use the telegraph there, rather than back-tracking to another station. Walk into the Waiting Room to trigger a cut-scene. Look at the floor to examine a Cigar Stub. Smell the cigar to trigger the next puzzle. First, rotate the shapes horizontally so that you end up with this:
Drag the tobacco leaves to the right like this:
Finally, drag the smoke downwards to complete the image.
Use

to focus on the Ashtray. Pick up and examine the Piece of Burnt Paper. Look at the Ashtray again, then study the Cigar Stubs. Walk around the Ashtray and into the Ticket Office. Look at the Office Table and pick up the Horse Racing Tickets. Make sure that you examine both sides. Go to the Telegraph at the back of the office to send a telegraph to Mycroft, who will reply with some interesting information about WEA Coal. Open the deduction board to connect
