How to unlock the Lickety Pronto trophy

This is a fun trophy to get imo.

First of all there are these speed boosts that open up when you hold down cn_O to run faster and come in very handy and are needed to win these races. They are circular and in the form of the neon we are used to seeing, you will see them in the video i provided so you know what to look for.

There is not only the incentive to get the trophy by winning the races but also the skill points for winning each race that allows you to upgrade your character and the races them selves are fun to take part in as some are really easy but there are a couple that take rather sharp turns keeping you on your toes but none are so difficult to the point that any of you should find it so hard that you can not complete them all.

You will get to a point in the game where the boosts are explained how to use. You can use them while in races and when just travelling to other locations outside of races making you reach your destination much quicker when used.

You may want to try them out before attempting a race, it is up to you.

There are a total of 7 areas on the map which you can look at by pressing the options button on the controller then using the cn_L2 and cn_R2 buttons to switch between menu tabs. Once in the map you will see icons which are of 2 flags crossing each other which are the Lumen Races, you can see this in the video at 0:25 and pause. Just put your map cursor on the Lumen Race icon and press cn_X which will mark a way point also on your mini map so that you can see the direction you need to head in to get to your selected race.

Each area has a different amount of races as follows

    Queen Anne 2
    Paramount 2
    Belltown 2
    Pioneer Square 3
    George Town 2
    Market District 2
    Seattle Centre 4

So in total there are 17 races.

You can tell which areas you have completed by looking at your map, for example if you look at the upper left area called Queen Anne there will also be a table on the right side of the screen showing you the percentage of the area cleared and under it activities to be completed one of which is the races. Queen Anne has 2 so once you have completed that area the races will be seen as 2/2 so you know to move on to another area.

If you pause the video at 0:25 you can see the icons and the table at the right i was talking about and that he has completed 1/4 races in Seattle Centre. If some races are not available straight away do not worry you may need to continue more of the main story to unlock them just like in the main game if you have played that you will know what i mean.

When you approach the Lumen Race in the game press up on the D-pad to start the race, if you fail do not worry you will get the chance to do it again by going back to the start point, do not worry if it does not appear straight away, it will eventually reappear.

Watching the video from 0:28 you will see a glowing object enter the screen, this is the Lumen that you are going after in the race to try capture it so it is not a race in the form of trying to come first place but rather to try keep up with the Lumen and as i say capture it. Keep watching the video and you will see the speed boosts i spoke about like a circular swirling neon ring that are essential to keeping up with the Lumen but don't worry if you miss one or 2 as you do not need to go through every single one to capture it so in other words do not give up easily. There are some races like i said at the start that the Lumen will make sharp turns to keep you on your toes so speed is not everything, you need to try keep an eye on the Lumen and where it is going, those are the races you may need to attempt more than once.

While using the skill points you earn there is an upgrade that can help make the races easier if you do happen to miss some of the boost rings. It is under the Light Speed skill tree and is called Extended Cloud Boost which makes the boosts last 50% longer than before making it so that if you do miss a fair amount of the speed boosts you have added a 50% chance of managing to complete the race than without it so that is something to think about if you find that you tend to miss the speed boosts which are actually called Neon Clouds in game but i thought easier to describe as speed boosts. I can say that the upgrade did help me win a couple of races that if i had not activated that upgrade i may have had to start them over again. Although i do not think it would be completely essential to win them all it certainly helped when i lost track of the Lumen and missed some of the boosts.

I hope this helps in any way possible and all i can now say is have good fun catching your Lumens, i found this a really fun activity in the game so i hope you enjoy it as much as i did and if you have any questions please feel free to ask and i will answer as best i can. smile

Happy gaming all, have fun smile
