How to unlock the Dashing through the Rift trophy

This achievement requires you to beat a Nephalem Rift in under 15 minutes. Time starts when you enter the rift, and time stops when you talk to Orek back in town to close the rift.

I did it with a level 68 Crusader in just over 10 minutes - it takes a bit of skill and the right character build, and a bit of luck in terms of the rift layout. Here are some tips...

Difficulty: Goes without saying that you should drop the difficulty to Normal which will ensure you get quick kills and will also mean you take down elite mobs much quicker as these can chew quite a bit of time up.

Build: You really need decent AOE and crowd control abilities. Movement speed is useful too. Given you'll be on Normal, and you'd probably have to try quite hard to get killed, you may as well pump everything into offense in terms of skills and equipment. For my Crusader, I used Slash as the Primary, but had Fist of the Heavens with Fissure rune as Secondary because the electricity and arcing effects are highly effective room clearers. And Falling Sword as well because of the quick recharge versus other options.

Loot: Don't stop to mess around with inventory. Mash X to pick anything decent up and keep running. I don't know if the timer stops when you have your inventory screen up, but you'd probably rather not take that chance.

Map: This makes a huge difference and it's entirely outside your control. Rifts can be from 1-5 levels deep (at least, that's what I've found so far). A 5 level rift will be basically linear tunnel/corridor maps the whole way. A 2 level rift will have at least one big outdoor area (think Highlands, Act V Cemetery or Dahlgur Oasis).

It's much, much easier to accomplish this on the smaller, more linear maps, because you can basically speed-run through them without needing to search for enemies or the way to the next level. And because summoning the Rift Guardian seems to require you to have defeated a certain proportion of the enemies on the map, it helps if you don't actually have to go looking for them.

Basically, if you hit a big outdoor area (you should recognise the maps) chuck the difficulty back up and use the rift to farm gold and items instead. These maps are generally rarer than the linear maps, but they're a lot harder to get enough kills to summon the Guardian within the available time and you're better off to use them for loot.

Strategy: Basically just speed-run through the map, use AOE powers wherever possible to clear rooms as quickly as possible. Use the mini-map to avoid any small dead-ends. Focus on getting massacres to provide Nephalem Glory / Double Damage powerups which will also make your life easier. If you see any easily crushable blocks of 7-8+ objects, they're worth smashing to get the speed boost.

    Good luck!

Very easy in multiplayer. Drop the difficulty in single player but much easier in multiplayer. Switch your game to public and keep running rifts. People will soon join and the trophy will pop.

I had very little trouble with this achievement. I don't know if that was due to my build or not.

I ran it as a level 62 mage on Normal with the usual spells I used throughout my playthrough (Electrocute, Arcane Torrent, Frost Nova, Hydra, Storm Armor, and Black Hole).

The map I did it on was one of the churches. I made a somewhat beeline down the main path, ignoring most of the side passageways, and was around 92% of my needed kills before reaching the door for the 2nd passage way. Once down there, I followed the path and quickly gained that last 8% of the kills.

I clocked myself at just under 9:30 on the run from when I hit X to open the portal until I talked to Orek to finish the quest.
