1. From the Main Menu, choose Campaign.
2. At the Campaign Select screen, choose HD, on the right.
3. Choose Uplift, the first selectable campaign event.
4a. You'll have two missions to choose from to start with - a Single Race mission and a Speed Lap mission. Select one. I chose the Single Race (the topmost hexagon) because it requires fewer laps to win, and you get weapons!
4b. At this screen, you can also choose the AI Difficulty by pressing Square. Choose Novice, if it's not already selected.
5. Choose a ship.
6. Win the race! (It may help to use weapons when you first start off to slow down your opponents; fly over the Red Xs to pick up weapons, and press Square to fire them. As you get past them, fly over the Blue Arrows to get a speed boost!)
