Simply start up the game and continue to complete each wave until you reach wave 19, when in the store, before starting wave 20 purchase 1 smart bomb and as much shield as you can afford. Once you start wave 20 instantly hit L1 which will activate the smart bomb and instantly destroy all enemies in that wave therefore enabling you to go straight to the mothership battle without the possibility of losing any shields during the battle with normal enemies.
