How to unlock the Blitzball Master trophy

This trophy requires you to learn Wakka's all four Overdrives. You unlock them by playing Blitzball as the trophy's name suggests.

Attack Reels - This one becomes available immediately after getting access to Blitzball, although you should recruit some good players first. If you're still in Luca you can easily hire the following team for example:

    LF: Tidus
RF: Wedge (Stadium Guard in Luca)
    MF: Letty/Jassu
LD: Zalitz (sitting near the Sphere Theater in Luca)
RD: Ropp (Mi'ihen Highroad Travel Agency)
GK: Jumal (sitting on a bench in Luca Square)

Then just go back and forth between the Blitzball menu and the Save Sphere until you see Attack Reels as a tournament prize.

Status Reels - There are two requirements for this one. Wakka has to have participated in 250 battles and has to have learned Attack Reels. When those requirements are met Status Reels will appear as a league prize. The fastest way to make it appear is to choose the "Reset data" (you lose all your Blitzball progress, all players lose their levels and you have to hire them again) option from the Blitzball Menu until you see Status Reels as the prize for winning the league. Otherwise you have to complete the league at least once before getting this one because league prizes don't change unless you complete the league or reset the Blitzball data as stated above.

If you choose playing over resetting make sure that you don't select the "continue playing blitzball" option after completing the 10th league game. Instead choose "Back" and save your game. Then go back to the blitzball menu and check if Status Reels is the league prize and in case it isn't just load the save file.

Aurochs Reels - This will appear as a Tournament prize after Wakka has participated in 450 battles and has learned Attack Reels and Status Reels.

Again, just go back and forth between the Blitzball menu and the Save Sphere until you see Aurochs Reels as a tournament prize.

AccelerettoGood guide, thanks for the help, gave you a thumbs up.

You may want to add that after you do the Status Reels, the Aurochs Reels may not necessarily show up straight away in a Tournament (as it didn't for me). If that happens, one should forfeit an Exhibition Match (this should grey-out the Tournament option), and then leave and re-enter Blitzball 4-5 times, this will reset the tournament and it should show up. If it still doesn't show up, repeat the above until it does.

KartissaIf your team isn't optimised (because like me, you prefer keeping all the Aurochs) it is still possible to win the first tournament, and earn the Attack Reels.

You can save before the tournament, when it's still greyed out. When you start the tournament, you want to be one of the teams which aren't playing in the first round. Ideally, you want the Al Bhed Psyches to be matched up with the Guado Glories or the Ronso Fangs, preferably in the group you are not in. If you are in matched up against the Al Bhed, or are forced to play 3 matches, simply quit and reload.

Let the first round play out. If the Al Bhed lose their match, or you are not playing them next, play the match as normal. With Tidus and his Jecht Shot, you should be able to beat any other team. Then repeat the process for the final match.

Just to clarify: *YOU DO NOT WANT TO PLAY THE AL BHED PSYCHES RIGHT NOW!* Not until you've got a decent team. (Makes you wonder how Wakka managed it during the story, doesn't it?) If you are forced to, quit and reload. Do not save the game during the tournament unless the Al Bhed have been eliminated.

After the first tournament, the experience you get for playing in the leagues should be enough to level your players sufficiently, even if you don't win all the matches.
