This can be a bit of a tedious trophy to acquire, but there's definitely a benefit to learning the touch pad shot. I find it to be easier to get power right with it, and when your player is coming in on an angle, you're not going to get any surprises.
All that said, I found myself shooting wide a lot with the standard camera angle. I decided to switch it to end to end, and it made a huge difference. You can accurately select the part of the net you want to kick to, and goals started flooding in.
Also, while I wish it did, arena goals don't count. I learned that the hard way after spending about ten minutes in there pumping home goals. Either way, it's a great goal process to get good with, and one that can be stackable with most of the gameplay based trophies. Over time, you'll unlock it. Good luck!
