You'll be separated from Atreus for a while during the first mission, whilst destroying a lot of interlopers on your turf.
The boss fight is straight forward and it also serves as a tutorial as sorts for some game mechanics.
Stay out the way of the Bears strong attacks and you'll survive easily.
