Of the three digit chase puzzles, this requires the most precision. You must spin the circle of numbers so the correct one is directly in front of you. Then, you must drag down the top right corner of the sheet the number is on.
You always start with 1 facing you. After you drag down its top right corner, you flick to spin the circle of numbers trying to find the 2. The next number in sequence is dog-eared. This is the easiest way to spot it. You must stop the number directly in front of you. This is where precision comes in. It is easy to undershoot or overshoot the mark, wasting valuable time as you try to adjust its position.
Although you can spin in either direction, I recommend choosing either clockwise or counterclockwise and sticking with it. Try to remember where the numbers are so you can anticipate later numbers in the sequence. However, this is of secondary importance. The most important criterion for success is being able to stop in the right location. If you get good at spotting the dog-eared number and stopping it with a minimum of fuss, you can easily beat the 20 second mark.
This is why I recommend sticking with one direction. Flick the number circle, spot the dog-eared number, stop it in front of you, and drag the top right corner down. Repeat until you have cleared all numbers. Remembering where numbers happen to be can help you but not if you overthink it. Hesitating because you think changing direction will help you will, instead, delay you more than spinning the number circle along the longer path.
