Drake, Spike, or Sackboy are probably the best characters to try this with. If you have the DLC Issac is also pretty ludacrus. On that same note, you want to avoid going for this trophy if Issac, Dante, Spike, or Zeus are in the match, as they have insanely hard to avoid combo's that lead into their Level 1 or 2 and are impossible to break out of once caught in them.

Drake has Barrels. Abuse them. Spam the hell out of them. Barrels are still pretty dumb even after getting nerfed. They're also great at keeping your opponents away from you. Once you use the barrels, you'll understand why there's no need to explain further the awsomeness of barrels.

Spike has Bananas. That $*** is banana's, b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Those are also good at keeping your opponents away from you, except unlike the barrels, your opponent has to run into them, thus they can just jump over them to avoid them. This can be avoided by utilizing the toy car to zap them if they try to jump over the bananas. The best way to throw bananas is midair, as they have the greatest chance of spreading out, and you can also get your opponent with them if they try to anti air you.

Sackboy has the Fan. While not as good as Barrels or Bananas (probably because it doesn't start with B) it can slow your opponents down. Sackboy also has a ton of other utilities at his disposal to stay away from the opponents, since your ultimate goal is to not get killed.

If you purchase the relevent DLC, Issac is pretty damn broken. While not super qualified to keep opponents away, his ace in the hole is his ability to downright beat the opponent to a pulp. You can almost keep opponents from even hitting Level 1 if you abuse Issac enough. Do a lot of shooting and be super aggresive with trying to get kills. If you can kill them, that's even better than trying to deny them kills, as it does so while also getting them out of the game for a decent chunk of time.
