How to unlock the Sniper Elite trophy

I will offer you some tips for your Elite difficulty journey. I should start by saying this game is fairly easy even on the hardest difficulty. Do not be frightened by it. You will die at certain points. Possibly many deaths. But there are so many checkpoints in each mission that you can make little progress and be rewarded with a checkpoint.

Tip #1: Use the cover system (even though it can suck at times!) and never leave yourself open to enemy fire.

Tip #2: Machine gun choices. The PPSH holds the biggest clip, but it is less common to find one laying around so you can replenish ammo. The MP-40 holds a decent sized clip but you are much more likely to find one from looting dead bodies. I suggest taking the MP-40.

Tip #3: Always take the Welrod. It is almost the best weapon in the game. Sometimes it is better to be silent than to go loud. Make sure you aim for the head with the Welrod to ensure you score the kill. Sometimes a body-shot just isn't enough.

Tip #4: Enemies will be everywhere. But try and shoot the snipers first. If you have a sound that can mask the sounds of your shots, use that to your advantage for as long as you can. Alerting enemies can be costly and death inducing.

Tip #5: Sniper Rifles. Each sniper rifle is unique. You can see this by looking at the stat page for each rifle. Choose the rifle that works best for YOU. I personally enjoyed the Mosin Nagant because it seemed to have more "oomph" power to it. However, since it was a bolt-action, my rate of fire was feckin' slow. So try each rifle when they become available and choose the one that works best for you.

Tip #6: Equpiment. You want to take all the trip mines and land mines that you can. Grenades are not needed on this difficulty. Dynamite isn't that useful either.

Remember to take your time and don't be afraid if you die a few times. Sometimes it helps you get a sense of where the enemies are coming from. I died quite a bit in Chapter 8 when the snipers show up. I didn't use a video guide at first and I didn't know where the hell they were all shooting me from. Eventually, you will persevere.

Also take note that using your binoculars to "tag" an enemy has been disabled.

    Good luck!
