You can purchase gun customizations in the armory at the main menu or between chapter checkpoints in game.
Work through the list buying a new stock, barrel, magazine, sights, mounts and muzzles on one gun. The M4 you start with can be upgraded for this trophy as it has at least 6 parts to customize.
