Skills are characterized by the bronzed sun marks in the maps of the Growth Chart. While the Beginnings map has a few, you will need to dip into the maps of other characters to fulfill this requirement. I would at least suggest taking Brothers' Sake Cup from Sabo and Cat Burglar from Nami, if you have any extra slots not taken up, but some other characters do offer some other skills as well that might benefit you.
