Only the 50 base game trophies are required to unlock this Platinum but note a USB camera is also required for one trophyThe trophies in Burnout Paradise will require you to sample many modes both online and offline in all race types and explore a wide area of the map but overall this Platinum is rather easy to attain. I will try to offer as much information for the game as I can but feel free to also use the
Burnout Paradise Wiki for anything I miss or do not cover.
Playing the game normally will unlock most of the miscellaneous trophies but can be worked on at any points. As you are required to find every event on the map I suggest you drive around to all of the 120 stoplight points on the map to ‘find’ all the events for:
Here’s a map of the game world with all the events shown
Once you have found all the events I suggest you work through the licenses by winning events in the Single player, there are 7 licenses from ‘Learner’s Permit’ to ‘Burnout Elite Licence’ but only
6 of these 7 licences are required for the Platinum.
In order to make it to the 6th licence level ‘Burnout Licence’ you need to have won a total of
90 events, try to vary between the
5 game modes to achieve most of the varying trophies for playing the modes.
The 5 modes are:
Race (Blue events)You race from the starting point to one of the 8 finish lines on the map (8 points on a compass) against 7 opponents, pick a car you are comfortable with.
You will not need to do anything out of the ordinary in races to unlock all the race specific trophies.
Trophies you need to unlock in races:
Burnout Routes (Orange star events)There are 35 Burning Routes, one for each vehicle in the game. You race from one point to another under a set time limit. You will need to complete at least
5 of these to get the burning route specific trophy:
Marked Man (Yellow events)In these events you are a marked car, 3+ AI cars will try to take you down on your way to the finish line, you only need to win one of these for the marked man specific trophy:
Road Rage (Red events)In these events you are free to drive around the city as opponents drive around to, your goal is to takedown these opponents by hitting them into walls/cars, crushing them, landing on top of them, etc. Each event will have a set number of takedowns required to ‘win’ the event all whilst against the clock but taking down opponents adds to this timer. There are only 2 road rage specific trophies:
Stunt Run (Green events)Stunt runs involve the player scoring points by chaining together stunts such as barrel rolls, flat spinning, smashing billboards, completing stunt jumps, drifting, boosting and earning air time to reach a target score. The player wins the event by reaching or exceeding this target score within the time limit, a tip is you can keep your multiplier going by either tapping the boost button or drifting. There are only 2 stunt run specific trophies:
Along the way to getting you Burnout license you will most likely have unlocked the following trophies without trying:
Now with the license trophies out of the way you can aim for the remaining discovery trophies and any miscellaneous trophies you missed, note you can also do these in multiplayer freeroam but it’s easier in singleplayer.
You will need to:
Set 10 Time Road Rules, whilst in freeroam press
on the Dpad till the road sign at the top changes to red now beat the time set on 10 roads, you can have a run up on the road but you must follow the road from its beginning to end for these to count
Set 10 Showtime Road Rules, whilst in freeroam press both
and
together to enter into Showtime, in this mode your goal is to hit into traffic to gain points, hitting buses will increase your score multiplier by x1, you will need to aim to get a 5x in one of your 10 Showtime runs to get all the Showtime trophies
Successfully land 10 Super jumps, these jumps have blue cones in front of them and usually require a run up, here’s a map with the location of all the Super Jumps
Make sure to complete jump number
40 to get all the Super Jump trophies:
Smash 60 Burnout Billboards, burnout billboards are large red flashing billboards spread around the map, drive through them to smash them. Any you smash will show smashed once you’ve done them, there are 120 in the game so you only need to do half. Here’s a map with the location of all the Burnout Billboards
Drive through 200 Smash Gates, smash gates are yellow flashing gates that are on the entrances to shortcuts and various other places, I doubt you’ll need help smashing 200 since there are 400 in total but here’s a map if you are short
Visit various areas of the map/pull of remaining tricks:
Now for the onlineThe online trophies in this game are very easy but one trophy does require 7 other people to be in a freeroam game with you so you can either
create a gaming session,
join a gaming session or try with ‘randoms’
You will be required to send a snapshot to another player, jump over another player, invite a friend to a game and complete 10 freeroam challenges which will be easy as a group.
That should cover all the required trophies and any that are left should be easily picked up.
