Once the 1st level (1-1) starts, you will go open a door and begin heading down a long hallway. There will be two explosions where doors on the LHS blow out. Go slightly past the 2nd blown door, turn around and hit the boost dash button
back in the direction you just came from. Watching your boost bar, about the time you get to the doorway directly in front of you it should be just about expended. Timing here is important and you just need to release the button before you completely exhaust the boost meter. If you overheat, simply try again. If you go too far past that 2nd door, however, you will move to the next scene and lose the opportunity to get the trophy.
