So I read the guides for this on the affiliated True Achievements site and thought that's all a bit complicated. I then re-read the trophy description and thought surely using the handbrake just before the finish line while in the lead and turning/spinning the car 180 degrees and sliding over the finish line backwards will work.
I got the trophy on my first attempt, using rewind when I first saw the finish line confetti to go back fifty or so metres to best time the the hand brake - turn moment.
Seems a lot less finicky than solutions suggesting putting the car in reverse gear.
Give it a try. I use a controller not wheel.
