How to unlock the Power and Responsibility trophy

To unlock the Power and Responsibility trophy in Spider-Man you must complete the main story of the game using the new hardest difficulty "Ultimate" added in Update 1.08. You must not change the difficulty at any time during your play through of the main story.

Seeing as this trophy comes with an update that also requires you to finish a New Game + play through you might as well combine your efforts and set your New Game + to Ultimate. This way you get all the advantages of your completed save -- XP level, unlocked skills, suits, mods, gadgets -- to help you adjust quickly to the new difficulty.

Spider-Man isn't a difficult game to complete even on a harder difficulty. The only modifier appears to be enemy damage and damage resistance, yet with plenty of patience Spider-Man can avoid damage entirely even with his basic move set. With all of the unlocks of a New Game + this should be pretty straight forward as long as you take your time.

EDIT: To be clear, you can start a brand new save on Ultimate if you want, you don't have to unlock NG+ first. Also, the game will throw up a warning if you attempt to change the difficulty from Ultimate, so there's no chance of an accidental switch.

JamieRobynHow do I change my new game difficulty? It seems to just make the difficulty the same as my original playthrough

kintaris@JamieRobyn when you choose a new game file (or choose to make a New Game +), before you select Start Game you will see a small menu. You need to navigate to the Difficulty options there and change it from your original save's difficulty before you start a new game.

BullyofSmegBut like JamieRobyn said, you press square on your game file to create a NG+ but it only creates it as the same difficulty as your original save file.

So I have completed on Amazing but now I want to combine the 2 NG+ trophies by doing a NG+ on Ultimate but it doesn’t seem to let me!?!

    Am I missing something?

BullyofSmegOK, I worked it out! I was getting a little ahead of myself!

Basically create the NG+ from your existing file and it will show the difficulty you just completed at but when you start that file up for the first time it allows you to change it.

MrCheekyMonkey13Does anyone know if you have to do the side missions that show as blue markers too? Or can I solely focus on doing the main quests showing as the yellow markers?

js64738No sidemissions required. I did only the yellow main missions and unlocked the towers (for the full clear map) and picked up one extra backpack). 61% campaign progress.

Both NG+ and Ultimate achievement unlocked after the credits and cutscenes when you're back in freeroam mode.

juansero29Can I skip puzzles and still get the trophy?

jordanmacityes, I did all main missions only to finish it and get this, only did a few side missions (not even a dozen) to waste time whilst I waited in the wait periods
