How to unlock the I'LL BE BACK trophy

To unlock the "I'LL BE BACK" trophy in Detroit: Become Human, you must make sure that Connor is killed whenever possible. You MUST do this from a New Story and play the game through in order. I tested this in multiple playthroughs and the trophy did not unlock until I started a new story.

However thanks to comments on this solution from Rav3nDK_72 and Animanis it appears that you can go back several chapters to correct a mistake, as long as you continue to "overwrite" the story by playing every subsequent chapter up to the point you previously reached. A hypothetical example: if you realise something is up during Chapter 10 due to a decision made in Chapter 6, you can't go to Chapter 6, change the decision, and hop back in Chapter 10 expecting things to be different. Chapter 10 will still be "reading" the game's current state of play from Chapter 9. You have to "overwrite" Chapters 6 through 10 in order for Chapter 10 to reflect your altered decisions.

As multiple deaths lead to a very singular story experience and locks you out of a number of other trophies, I suggest leaving this until last. If you've done everything else you need to with Kara and Markus you can speed this playthrough up considerably by

In addition, you need to make Hank really hate you before you get to "THE BRIDGE". Naturally that's going to make it pretty impossible for you to get this:

Here is an optimal playthrough of the game to get this trophy as quickly as possible, bear in mind that you'll be locked out of a vast number of other trophies if you still need them.

Oh, one more thing - there's a crucial choice to make in LAST CHANCE, CONNOR that nearly every guide out there seems to have failed to mention, which I learned far too late... see below in the spoiler tags!

It seems almost unanimous across various sites that the trophy will unlock at this point, as it did for me, despite the fact that Connor still has remaining chances to die. Perhaps "...before the end" in the trophy description means "...before the last chapter". But in case it doesn't unlock for you (or this early unlock is a bug that gets patched), here's the final opportunities.

It's worth noting that you'll also get the following trophy in the final chapter if you haven't already, so it's worth seeing through:

As always, the trophy will unlock when you reach the flowchart at the end of the chapter, whether that's after NIGHT OF THE SOUL or BATTLE FOR DETROIT.

SkaosGamesFantastic guide. I was brave and actually did a full Pacifist runthrough for Markus at the same time, and it worked. Thanks for making a difficult trophy much less painful!

KuwantumGreat guide, just confirming that as of Mar 12 2023, it still unlocks during Night of The Soul

One minor point (maybe a correction?), in "Last Chance: Connor" it was Gavin, not Chris. who confronted and killed Connor. I had a horrible feeling that I had made a mistake but it all worked out.

You need to get Connor killed a lot, here's how. There are ten opportunities, you may only need eight.
    1. Rush onto the balcony as soon as you can and choose the Sacrifice option when you are close enough to the deviant.
    2. During the interrogation, choose to Probe the android and then talk to it before you leave and choose Cold. When it begins to harm itself, select Intervene.
    3. Kara needs to be alive for this one (you can choose to let both timers run down during the Zlatko chapter to reset her memory and lose the chapter if you want to take her out of the story.) During the escape from the police, make it across the highway with her and Alice. Don't press anything when Connor hops the fence to go after her.
    4. Chasing the deviant across rooftops in The Nest chapter, don't press a button when sliding down a rooftop.
During the heist, don't bring the security android with you to make a later decision matter. Also, in the tower, Simon must die either at Markus' hands or Connor's.
    5. During The Bridge, Hank must hate you. Having been rude to him and shot the Traci deviants will help you get there, as well as him watching you die over and over. He will shoot you.
    6. In the Public Enemy chapter, you can either let the time run out after you get your heart ripped out or choose Save Hank while chasing the deviant. If you go up to the roof and get

the mission will end without interacting with the deviant and you'll miss this achievement.
During the march, Sacrifice yourself to take Markus out of the remainder of the game.
    7. In the chapter Last Chance Connor, find Jericho and then don't fight back.
    8. In the Crossroads chapter, don't do anything when you get stopped by the policeman.
    9. On the rooftop, choose to fight and then don't do anything.
    10. Either choose "Play as Markus" having chosen "Revolution" or when you find North at the end of the game, don't choose. You will also get

CaptainFuture01You can load the interrogation and proceed from that point forward if you follow the guide then.

I have a little correction for

    A New Home:
    - Ventilate Todd's room, otherwise you woin't be able to speak to Alice and leave the upper floor.

    The Painter:
    - The bookshelf with the choice of books to read is on the right side of the room looking into it from Carl's perspective.
