This is a little more straight forward than it seems, however it will take a little practice to notice particular cues as your foes perform moves.

First up, you are essentially playing support. This means that you need to attack enemies as they are attacking your allies for it to count. To do this, stick with ranged characters, as they have a better perspective from a distance. The characters I used were Shantotto first until the character reached level 10, then I used Emperor as both have similar ranged moves. (Note: You should use the same character until level 10 as you get a title for this and it will help towards getting 50 titles for another trophy).

With the two characters mentioned above, you can use two specific moves that will help. Both of these are air attacks (so perform them in the air).

Pressing UP + Circle for a short projectile move for when enemies are nearby. Emperors' projectile attack is good when you get used to it as when it gets to a certain distance it acts like a trap and sits there for a few seconds before disappearing.

Pressing DOWN + Circle for a mid ranged area attack for when you see allies getting attacked at a distance. Both Shantotto and Emporor's area attack have a slight delay when performed, this is good as it lets you time the shot for when you think a moving enemy may stop.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

When you finish a battle press SQUARE and look at the allies saved column. Each time you successfully stop a characters' attack, you get 12 points. Once you have 60 points in this column, you have successfully met the requirements for one match. 5 x 12 = 60 hence... do this 29 more times...

Don't end matches quickly, let the timer run down, as you will have more opportunities to get the assists, this is also a good general tip for getting high scores and ranking up characters.

Also, playing against real people is great as they are always attacking another character (most likely the other real people AKA... you...) however when you are only versing AI, just take a step back and see what is happening on the field. Most likely there is one dominant AI that will attack other characters as well as you (this is a good tell tale sign), and then there will be one or two other characters just... running... around... not doing anything and are not help to your cause.

Just keep at it, and you will eventually learn how to play this game a little more tactically from doing this so it is a good skill building exercise...

Good luck.
