Crushing difficulty can be selected right away, so you don't need to worry about unlocking it. You can use infinite ammo or any of the other gameplay tweaks if you have unlocked them. Even though the game seems to want to emphasize stealth, it is often easier to just shoot people from a good position. The following guide shows some great strategies, particularly for the more difficult sections (Chapters 6 and 8 with the APC and helicopter):

For starters- Crushing mode in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is... well... literally crushing. In other Uncharted games, Crushing mode is difficult, but fair. In The Lost Legacy, it is VERY unfair. Enemies can literally see you through cover if you are close enough, and the APC and helicopter fights are not fun. But, there are a few things you can use to help you. First, if you beat the game on normal or hard mode first, you will earn unlock points. I would recommend spending them on a few specific things. First, buy the game play modifiers “Bullet Speed Mode” and “Infinite Ammo”. Bullet Speed Mode slows down time when you shoot, which makes it much easier to aim, and Infinite Ammo speaks for itself. Next, I would recommend getting the RPG and silenced pistol. These guns paired with these two gameplay modifiers makes you pretty much unstoppable. For most combat, I would recommend staying at a distance and using the silenced pistol to get headshots. If you are noticed, either use the RPG, or try to hide. For the APC fight, I didn’t even pick up any C4. I slowly picked off all of the surrounding enemies with the silenced pistol, and when they were all clear, I took it out with the RPG. For the helicopter fight, which is the hardest in the game, I just stayed in the starting area, above all of the enemies. I picked off a few of the enemies from up there, using the silenced pistol. When I took down about 5 of them, I just shot the helicopter with the RPG. After you shoot it 3-4 times, jump out the window and make a break for it. I thought that the final chapter would be absolutely brutal after Uncharted 2’s train sequence, but it is somewhat easy. Just stay behind cover, and try to get headshots. I used the P90, as it has a very fast fire rate, and can take out enemies, motorcycles, and cars with ease if you pair it with infinite ammo. The Asav fights are also very easy. The only difference is you will die within 3 punches in Crushing instead of 5-6 in normal or hard. I used these strategies, and ended up beating it in around 7-8 hours. And DO NOT skip the credits, as it could lock the trophy out. Just wait to the end of them, and it will pop. Also, you must start a new game under crushing. Replaying everything in chapter replay doesn’t work. And it is ok to keep all previous photos, conversations, and treasures for the new game, unlike the Way of the Warrior trophy.

    Valyc77Can I also use Lock-on aim?

This combined with the silenced pistol is gold!
