No sure how it really works (I'm waiting for a friend confirmation) but I got mine using a "Black Star". This item can be found at world 2 (probably found in other worlds too but this one is where is found most of the time) and when you use circle with it, it makes the screen go white and then you'll need to wait 1h-2h leaving the game idle.
I still don't know if we leave the game idle the same time in other places, if the trophy still pops.Can confirm now that this trophy can be obtained everywhere, just leave the game idle for the same time (1 to 2 hours).
Note: If you're looking for this "Black Star", go for hidden passageways and if it doesn't appear, just restart world 2 from the main menu and go looking for it again
