On the easier difficulties these bosses are a joke, but once he get to Hard and above the game starts to deliver some serious spankings. This guide will be more for those harder difficulties
.
Fatman likes to do a few things:
1. Plant several bombs, and give you next to no time to dismantle them
2. Skate around, running into you (and taking health)
3. Shooting you with one of the most epic SMG's in the series (that you will never acquire
).
What you will need for these harder difficulties (just to make life a bit easier):
- Claymores (at least 1)
- Brown Wig (details on this guide)
To get claymores, crawl across the EF Connecting Bridge - crawling over claymores will put them in your inventory automatically (something to remember
).
When the battle starts, you have a few bombs to dismantle. Take them out, then, instead of chasing this fat bastard, throw on the brown wig and start placing claymores EVERYWHERE. Seriously, make a frickin mine field for this douche wade through. On his skates he will easily hit one.
I did this on the 360, and I had so many mines in the area Fatman could not finish placing C4 before he fell, and my claymores took a good chunk of his health (my SOCOM did the rest
). And all I had to diffuse were 2 C4's in the beginning.
On difficulties, like Extreme, this bastard will drop 6 bombs and give you nearly no time (~30 seconds if I recall) to find them all, and freeze them. HOWEVER, the timer only starts when he places the last one - if he gets interrupted (say, from a claymore
) then you have time to either hit him, or get to a C4 he planted reducing the total when the timer starts.
Also, if he is stationary, and you have a moment, shoot his skates: it will knock him down instantly.
