How to unlock the The Sentinel trophy

This trophy like the "Stranger in a strange land" trophy is accomplished by surviving on an extreme world. To get to rank 10 in extreme survival it will take around 6 to 8 hours.

THIS MUST BE DONE ON ONE SINGLE PLANET

Multiple sources have said it can be done inside a shelter or cave but inside your ship doesn't count.

The planet can be extreme in two ways, weather or sentinel. Weather will show on your suit level bar, whereas sentinel will show as Hostile in the planets description.

This can be done Idle in a shelter but you will have to return to check life support and top it up if low. Life support lasts around 20 when not upgraded. when upgraded it can last over an hour.

You can leave the game and return for the tracker to continue. But if you leave the planet the tracker will reset. It will show overall progress but it wont go up until you meet the required level again.

    Hope this helps

Edit: If you have a physical copy of the game, you can remove the day one update which would then allow you to do this on any planet, not just extreme ones

Update: js64738 has confirmed this: "I can confirm this is now cumulative. Just got his on my nth extreme planet on multiple takes, with many non-extreme planets in between and multiple jumps and some black holes. Every second on an extreme planet outside your ship counts now."

MDH_StanThis seem to have been patched. Although I already had the achievement, I had to restart from scratch on a new game. So I was down on the sols. I just had a milestone for 12.0 sols after only a few minutes on a brand new planet to me. So it looks like it is now cumulating.

CassiopeiaGamesI would love to get this confirmed for true, as if so, I can just go for the center while the time rises and not engage in any fights.

This is easy, but time consuming. Just search for a planet with high security Sentinels. On this search for a Trading Post. You can find those by checking beacons, talking to intelligent lifeforms and asking them for points of interest, or by following other starships. Land with your ship on the Trading Post. And now just stand there and do nothing for several hours. The Sentinels will not attack as long as you are on the Trading Post platform. And since the last patch you can take cover under the roof, if a storm hits.

This trophy is for reaching the maximum milestone level of 10 for survival on an extreme planet. As of the current patch, this means you need to be on an extreme planet outside of a shelter or your ship for a total of 32 Sols (or about 8 hours). This is a cumulative total that will accumulate each time you are on an extreme planet.

Planets can be extreme either because of Aggressive Sentinels or Extreme Weather. It is much easier to find extreme sentinel planets because they are marked as such whenever you scan a planet from space.

The easiest way to complete this is to land on an extreme planet and immediately use the terrain manipulator to dig a small cave with a narrow opening down below the surface. Sentinels should not be able to find you in such a cave and weather will not affect you while you are underground. If you don't move, you won't consume life support power, so all you have to do is leave the game on for 8 hours and the trophy will unlock.

It might be a good idea to check in every once in a while and save using a mobile save beacon just in case, because at least for me, the game tends to crash every so often.
