How to unlock the Master of Sorceries trophy

    There are 34 Sorceries in the game:

    26 that can be bought from NPCs
    4 that are found in static locations
    3 that are made by transposing boss souls with Ludleth of Courland in Firelink Shrine
    1 that is a covenant reward (Great Deep Soul from Aldritch Faithful)

    This trophy can be earned in your first playthrough or across multiple playthroughs. There are missable Sorceries tied to Orbeck of Vinheim and Anri of Astora, so be careful with their progression.

    Great Magic Shield
    Obtained by killing a specific enemy in a cell in Ithiryll Dungeon. From the bonfire, head out to the large area, drop down to the lower level and open the door to the cell essentially below the bonfire hallway. The enemy is in this cell.

    Sold by Orbeck of Vinheim.

    Aural Decoy
    Sold by Orbeck of Vinheim.

    Pestilent Mercury
    Sold by Orbeck of Vinheim after returning the Sage's Scroll.

    Cast light
    Sold by Orbeck of Vinheim the Golden Scroll.

    Repair
    Sold by Orbeck of Vinheim after returning the Golden Scroll.

    Hidden Weapon
    Sold by Orbeck of Vinheim after returning the Golden Scroll.

    Hidden Body

    Chameleon
    This spell is obtained from a pilgrim in one of two places, both of which require progressing Anri's questline:
    1) When you meet Anri near the Church of Yorshka bonfire, this pilgrim is disguised (via Chameleon) as one of the human statues in the corner and can be killed to obtain the spell. This ruins progress towards the Usurpation of Fire ending and trophy, though.

    2) In the Darkmoon Temple behind an illusory wall right before Anor Londo. You must have progressed Anri's questline towards the Usurpation of Fire ending for the pilgrim to be there, and it will be dead with the spell available after interacting with Anri.

    Twisted Wall of Light
    Sold by Orbeck of Vinheim after returning the Golden Scroll.

    Deep Soul
    Trade with Ludleth of Courland for the Soul of Deacons of the Deep.

    Great Deep Soul
    Rewarded for reaching rank 1 in the Aldritch Faithful covenant. This requires 10 Human Dregs, which are awarded for successful Aldritch Faithful covenant kills and are also rare drops from the mages located in the large area between the Pontiff Sulyvahn bonfire and Anor Londo.

    Relevant NPCs

    Several NPCs sell Sorceries but only Orbeck and Karla are necessary as they sell all 26 that can be purchased.

    Orbeck of Vinheim
    Located in Crucifixion Woods near the Crystal Sage bonfire on the second level of a building. Talk to him with 10 or more INT and he will relocate to Firelink Shrine.

    Note that Orbeck will leave Firelink for good if you move past areas where scrolls can be found without immediately returning them to him. Be careful.

    Karla
    Locked in a cell on the lower level of the Irithyll Dungeon. The key is found in the Profaned Capital at the end of a hallway in a building beyond the toxic swamp. Exhaust her dialogue and she will relocate to Firelink Shrine.

    Scrolls

    Scrolls must be returned to Orbeck in order to fully unlock his inventory.

    Sage's Scroll
    From the Keep Ruins bonfire, proceed down the ramp, turn left, and follow the wall around to an area with dead mushroom enemies. The scroll is on a corpse nearby.

    Golden Scroll
    Found in Farron Keep in a cave near the area with many cursed basilisk enemies. Proceed to the right from the Farron Keep bonfire and you'll find it.

    Logan's Scroll
    Dropped by a sorcerer enemy in the Profaned Capital on the roof of the building across the toxic swamp.

    Crystal Scroll
    Obtained upon killing the Crystal Sage in the Grand Archives.

    Affinity
    Use: Cast dark manifestation of humanity
    This spell is obtained from Shrine Handmaid or Karla and automatically fires projectiles at enemies when in close proximity.

    Aural Decoy
    Use: Distract foes with a distant sound
    This spell is obtained from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and attracts enemies’ attention with a sound projected away from the players.

    Cast Light
    Use: Cast a light to illuminate surroundings
    This spell is obtained from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and produces a light that follows players for 60 seconds.

    Chameleon
    Use: Transform into something inconspicuous
    This spell is obtained from Irithyll of the Boreal Valley and transforms players into a part of surroundings which ends when players take an action.

    Crystal Hail
    Use: Cast cascade of small crystal soulmasses from sky
    This spell is acquired from Crystal Sage Soul and fires multiple projectiles towards the enemies which have some homing capabilities.

    Crystal Magic Weapon
    Use: Reinforce right weapon with crystal
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Crystal Scroll and enchants the right-handed weapon for a total of 45 seconds.

    Crystal Soul Spear
    Use: Fire piercing crystal soul spear
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Crystal Scroll and fires a fast projectile towards enemies, has piercing capabilities, and deals high amount of damage.

    Dark Edge
    Use: Strike with blade formed of humanity’s darkness
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Karla and swings a large sword made up of souls.

    Deep Soul
    Use: Fire darkened soul sediment
    This spell is acquired from Deacons of the Deep soul and fire slow projectiles with high homing capabilities.

    Farron Dart
    Use: Fire soul dart
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and fires fast moving, low damage towards the enemies.


    Farron Flashsword
    Use: Attack with a sword formed from souls
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and pierces through enemies with a dagger made up of souls and can be linked into combos.

    Farron Hail
    Use: Fire cascade of soul darts
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Sage’s Scroll and fires multiple low-damage projectiles that hit an enemy multiple times.

    Great Deep Soul
    Use: Fire more powerful darkened soul sediment
    This spell is acquired as an Aldritch Faithful reward and fire a slow projectile that has high homing abilities.

    Great Farron Dart
    Use: Fire more powerful soul dart
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Sage’s Scroll and fires low-damage fast-moving projectiles.

    Great Heavy Soul Arrow
    Use: Fire more powerful heavy soul arrow
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Sage’s Scroll and deal high damage, but has relatively slower speed.

    Great Magic Shield
    Use: greatly reinforce left shield with magic
    This spell is acquired from Irithyll Dungeon and provides 100% damage absorption rate of the left-handed shield and 1.5x stability for a total of 30 seconds.

    Great Magic Weapon
    Use: greatly reinforce right weapon with magic
    This spell is acquired from Road to Sacrifices and enchants the right-handed weapon with Magic damage for a total of 60 seconds.

    Great Soul Arrow
    Use: Fire more powerful soul arrow
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and fires projectiles that deal more damage than Soul Arrow.

    Heavy Soul Arrow
    Use: Fire heavy soul arrow
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and fires high damage-dealing projectiles that take a while to cast and have high FP cost.

    Hidden Body
    Use: Turn body nearly invisible
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning the Golden Scroll and makes character’s body semi-transparent for a total of 20 seconds, thus reducing enemies’ vision by 10%.

    Hidden Weapon
    Use: Turn right weapon invisible
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning the Golden Scroll and makes the right-handed weapon transparent for a total of 45 seconds.

    Homing Crystal Soulmass
    Use: Release homing crystal soulmass
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning the Crystal Scroll and fires high-damage and high FP-cost projectiles that circle around the player and are fired automatically.

    Homing Soulmass
    Use: Release homing soulmass
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Logan’s Soul and fires high-damage and high FP-cost projectiles that circle around the player and are fired automatically.

    Magic Shield
    Use: Reinforce left shield with magic
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and grants left-handed shield with 30% damage absorption to magic and 1.2x stability for a total of 60 seconds.

    Magic Weapon
    Use: Reinforce right weapon with magic
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and enchants the right-handed weapon with weak magic for a total of 90 seconds.

    Pestilent Mercury
    Use: Release mercury that eats away at HP
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Sage’s Scroll and creates a fog in front of characters that deal continuous damage to enemies and your character while continuously ignoring damage absorption rate.

    Repair
    Use: Repair equipped weapons and armor
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning the Golden Scroll and replenishes the durability of a piece of equipment by +10.

    Soul Arrow
    Use: Fire soul arrow
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and fire a projectile with little homing ability.

    Soul Greatsword
    Use: Attack with a Greatsword formed from souls
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and causes a swiping attack with a sword made up of souls which cannot be deflected or parried.

    Soul Spear
    Use: Fire soul spear
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning Logan’s Scroll and fires slow-moving projectile that deals high amount of damage and costs a lot of FP.

    Soul Stream
    Use: Fire torrential volley of souls
    This spell is acquired from Grand Archives and fire a beam which takes a very long time to cast, but has increased damage output.

    Spook
    Use: Mask noises of caster and prevent fall damage
    This spell is acquired from Shrine Handmaid or Orbeck and reduces fall damage as well as nullifying sound made by players while approaching enemies.

    Twisted Wall of Light
    Use: Distort light in order to deflect magic
    This spell is acquired from Orbeck after returning the Golden Scroll and creates a force-field around players that absorbs projectiles for a total of 2 seconds.

    White Dragon Breath
    Use: Emit crystal breath of Seath the Scaleless
    This spell is acquired from Oceiros, Consumed King Soul and allows players to fire crystal breath which travel across the land.
