You are unlikely to reach level 50 through normal story progression, and the use of arena battles or bountiful fruit use is recommended. For either route, attempt this in Khargs sixth chapter using either The Road of Bravery in Cathena or Enlightenment's Path in Lamda; I strongly recommend Road of Bravery as I found it significantly easier than Enlightenment's Path. Bountiful fruit are only received from Enlightenments Path, but romantic earrings are the reward for Road of Bravery, and cut the cost significantly of power leveling Kharg. I recommend this setup:

Weapon: 1 - 2 diamond coatings and a napping bell (alternatively, just use 3 diamond coatings).

Accessories: Hero headband, gale headband, and a steel/titanium armband. As you earn romantic earrings cycle them in to reduce the amount of G you need to spend after each 20 rounds.

Diamond coatings can be purchase in the Slothian Village, Peisus, Milmarna, and the Dilzweld Empire The napping bell can be purchased in Cathena or Peisus. The hero bandanna is obtained for collecting and returning all spirit dictionaries. Gale headbands are purchased in the Slothian Village, Milmarna, and the Dilzweld Empire.

Once Kharg learns his 8 star skill Windblade Fury, the Cathena arena becomes significantly more easy. Much like Darc and his dragon fang sword skill, Windblade Fury is able to hit and usually one shot kill most of the enemies in the formations in Cathena arena. You will often be able to go from 6 - 8 enemies down to 2 or 3. Your first run through will require AT LEAST 900 spirit stones ( minimum 1 Windblade fury per round at 20 rounds = 600 spirit stones; couple that with any healing or offensive skills necessary for Kharg and your second character and you'll need at least another 2 - 3 hundred).

Once Kharg makes it through the Road of Bravery twice (once for Diekbeck and once for the initial romantic earring) and assuming he's learned that skill, at this point he should be able to one-shot most enemies in the arena, significantly reducing the amount of time needed to complete this multiple times (As well as reducing spirit stone cost by 1/3 each time).
