Grove Street War Lord
**Please read tips at the bottom of my article it has valuable information.** You will be able to start capturing territories early on in the game, however the more you progress through the game and start traveling to other cities the ability to capture them will be locked until the end of the game. I completed this trophy at the end of the game when my character came back to Los Santos in a later mission.
To Achieve this trophy you will have to capture and HOLD 30 territories at one time. If you look at the map you will see colored sections in the city of Los Santos.
•Green (Grove Street Fam)
•Purple (The Ballas)
•Yellow ( Los Santos Vagos) The Goal is to capture 30 of these territories and hold them, when one is captured by you it will turn green. Make your way into a neighborhood that is controlled by one of the other gangs and find 3 gang members and kill them this will provoke a gang war. You now must stand your ground and defend this area against 3 waves of gang members. Kill them and you will Capture the area. During this fight if you need extra body armor of health you can find them located somewhere in the area that seem to spawn every wave. I found this trophy really easy to do and although it was a bit of a grind it was fun and I did not die once doing it. Once 30 territories are captured the trophy should be unlocked.
Tips & Tricks
Here are a couple tips and tricks in order to be successful with this trophy and make things a lot easier or faster.•To find how many territories you have taken over press the menu button and go to stats. Under the gang sections you will see a stat telling you how many you have taken over and the percentage. Please Note that 30 is not all the territories, when I was done I ended up with about 52 percent of them done.
•Each territory has approximately 25 gang members to kill, if you multiple that by 30 territories you will be able to kill between 750 - 800 gang members which is great for the other trophy of this game ( The Los Santos Slayer).
•If you get a wanted level before the territory war has started that is okay as the police will not continue to attack you while the war is in progress only the ones right next to you. However when you are done they will continue to pursue you.
•Make sure you get a decent amount of ammo before starting, i suggest an assault rifle with between 700-1000. During the fight gang members drop ammo which can be picked up. Completing this trophy I only had to go to the ammo store once at the beginning and ended up with 1500 extra ammo by the time I was finished all territories.
•It takes between 2- 3 minutes per territory from my estimation and is based on a persons skill level.
•Territories that you have previously taken over can be attacked by a rival gang in order for them to take the area back. The easiest way to get past this is to find a vehicle with a job. ( Ambulance, taxi or police car) jack it and then press the R3 stick in to start a job. This will cancel the rival gang attack. You can also run into a save point and save the game this will also cancel the attack.
