Best Bromance trophy in Final Fantasy VII

To unlock this, you have to choose specific dialog options to get a hidden score with Barret higher than Aeris, Tifa and Yuffie. Some of the dialog will boost Barret up and some will lower the other 3. I am following a guide written here:

Someone scrapped through the code of the game to work out the score values from each conversation. To write a proper guide here, all I would be doing is stealing others works.

I have read multiple reports of this trophy not unlocking for people. The general consensus seems to be, if you over use the glitch in Cosmos Canyon that allows you to repeat a conversation over and over to increase Barrets score, then you will end up on the date, but the trophy may not unlock. Only perform the glitch around 10-20 times. It is thought that if you go over a certain score then it glitches, so if you follow the guide completely then don't bother glitching. If you don't follow it at all then around 20 times. Credit for the glitch calculations goes to Lilley1593 on another site. Make a back up save before glitching, that way if you get Barret, but it doesn't unlock then you can use the glitch less on another try.

I went over the scores if you choose the perfect choices and the numbers end up as:

Aeris 35
Tifa 33
Yuffie 28
Barret 54

Good guide. Each conversation with Barrett at Cosmo Canyon is a +3. I wasn't doing all of the actions to get Barrett's points, mostly because I forgot about this trophy until midway through the game. I did the Cosmo Canyon conversation about 20-25 times and the trophy unlocked as soon as the 'date' began.

Thanks for the great solution. I followed the guide in the link for the most part, then used the Cosmo Canyon glitch 10 times, and it popped without a problem.

For the most part i checked a guide and did the Cosmo glitch 7 times and i got it yesterday

When is the earliest this can be achieve? I'm going there straight after Gongaga quest and I go and sleep in the ghost hotel but nothing happens, it just plays some music to say that I've rested and that's all. Does it have to be after a certain point in the game?

Going off a guide, after Gongaga you need to go to Cosmo Canyon, Nibelheim and Rocket Town before you get to this point. When you then go to the Gold Saucer to get a key item for the game. Once you do that, you will go to leave and the tram will be out of order. At that point your team decides to stay in the hotel. It only works when the team decide to stay, not when you decide to. Hope that helps
