  I've got a far better way of handling this.
  
  Two things you have to know: The method of getting it is not random. The character you get is.
  
  So here's what you do:
  
  1. Get everything else first.
  2. Talk to everyone in Patty's Place. If you get one, fine. If not, no big deal.
  3. Go defeat the Green Dragon. Every time you do so you are guaranteed one character. It may not be the one you want though.
  4. Talk to people until you get it. Cross that character off your list.
  5. Beat the Green Dragon again. Then talk until you get it, minus the character that you already have it for. The puff-puff is not stored permanently like Pokemon eggs, so if you don't get it, it's not a big deal.
  6. If you get it, cross the next character off. Either way, go beat the Green Dragon again.
  7. Keep doing this until you get all the characters.
  
  Took me about 2 hours to get this, which is extremely efficient. Thank the YouTube guide's commenter for the exploit (don't know your name offhand, but it's good to know)

  Potentially the most annoying trophy for this game. I suggest you start on this early.
  
  Once you get access to the Stonecloud all of your party members will start hanging out in Patty's place, which is a little bar area through a set of double doors. You need to speak to each and every one of your party members for a chance to view a cutscene with them. The chance for the cutscene is extremely low and only has a chance after returning to the Stonecloud from battle, so you cannot just spam talk to the same person. You need to enter Patty's place and speak with each party member every time you return from a mission until you encounter the cutscene from all party members, including Psaro, for the trophy to pop.
