This trophy is simple enough, although getting 20,000 kills is a very sizable grind. You can expect to get somewhere between 4K and 5K kills while completing the main story. I finished the main story and all other trophies at the 60hr mark and only had about 4,500 kills.

If you are looking to complete the postgame content then you may likely hit 20,000 kills without any grinding, however forums speculate postgame content to be around an additional 100+ hrs. Since all other trophies can be gotten via the main story some may not want to play through all post-game content. I was able to grind out my remaining 15,000+ kills in about 6 hours using the following method:

- Set Options: (Battle Effects: off) (Movement speed: Fast) (Battle Speed: Fast)
- Set a party of:
1 - Etoile (Max Generous Heart skill, Max Maid Mastery skill)
1 - Papillion (Rose Queen Technique lvl6/10) or another class with an AOE, no chant skill

The Papillion (or attacking character) should be high enough level to AOE one-shot regular enemies with the skill. I started with both characters at lvl30 using upgraded equipment and had no issues. In essence, each battle consists of the Papillion one-shotting all enemies and then after the battle the Etoiles skills regenerate the HP and TP. You should never need to leave the dungeon and each battle should only take a few seconds. Once you have the party setup, the rest is just a boring grind. So watch some TV or listen to music or whatever. I used the Giant Tree of Tver dungeon as I found that 95% of the battles were 4 or 5 enemies which speed things up, but you could go wherever on the story maps.

There is no way to accurately track kills but you can use these markers as you go:
1) 5,000 kills trophy
2) 10,000 kills in-game award (this only pops when you go back to the Royal Library)
3) My lvl 30 Papillon was lvl 79 when the 20,000 kill trophy popped

The trophy will pop in any dungeon once you complete your 20,000th kill.
