Important - When attempting this on the Vita, make sure you Vita is fully charged. Exploration Survival can take up a good 3-4 hours, and you don't want to run out of battery power while doing it. Keeping your charge cable handy and being near an outlet/PC would be highly recommended. The DI base is wireless so I'd suggest making sure it's charged fully as well.

Technical Issues - Due to the game being a full console port on a portable console, there will be some minor issues you run into. Since the levels the game creates can be quite large and populated, you will encounter some low frame rates on certain stages. I noticed this would tend to happen with the Pirate enemies, the Symbiote enemies, and the Monsters University enemies. Just try to defeat them as quickly as possible, and stay away from ledges. The game never froze on me, but at some points I was afraid it would.

I did have some Team-Up Power Discs on the base, but I never used them in fear of lagging up the game too badly. When playing other modes, the frame rate would drop if they were used.

There are also some stages where it gets very dark (a message about "Darkness" will show up a few seconds into the level). I found it very hard to see on the Vita screen, just pick up your sidekick, they can act as a sort of lantern and light up a small area.

To unlock Exploration Survival Mode, you're going to need to finish the first level of Escape from the Kyln (which is included with the Starter Pack for the Vita Disney Infinity 2.0) or the first level of Brave Forest Siege (bought separately or in a console Stater). Doing so will open up a portal to Exploration Survival in the Hub areas of Kyln/Forest Siege. I recommend you bring a Sidekick with you, as they can provide some extra damage and light up dark areas.

Exploration Survival consists of 50 Stages. Each stage is randomly put together by the game, and features many different enemy types that you need to defeat in order to move to the next stage. Every so often, the difficulty will increase, which seems to mean more of the larger types of enemies will spawn. Starting at the 7th level, and then again at 17, 27, 37, and 47, you'll load into an area where you need to destroy boxes of fireworks and some cannons instead of enemies.

As mentioned in the notice at the start, clearing all 50 stages can take a good 3-4 hours or more, depending on which character you're using or the random set-up of the levels. Personally I used Venom at lvl 20, who has a very high attack power when fully upgraded and can web-swing to move about quickly (and save yourself if you fall off an edge). I haven't used the Black Suit Spider-Man included with the Starter set, but Spider-Man is one of the higher ranked characters in the game and web-swings to move around quickly.

If your character is defeated, you'll need to place another on the pad to continue. After a few minutes, you'll get a message saying you can use your defeated character again. If you just have the Vita Starter set.. I'm afraid you'll have to start from the beginning again.

Some combat tips- Some of the stronger characters can pick up the larger enemies. Pick them up and throw them off the edge! Make sure you've got the ability to smash through a blocking opponents guard, and ranged attacks can work wonders and even sometimes speed things up. Being at max level will make things a ton easier.

And a sanity keeping tip.. listen to some music, TV/movie, party chat, anything to keep you awake/alert. The loading between stages can get a bit long.
