Horizon Forbidden West had two weeks of peace back when it launched at the end of February. The PlayStation Studios title made good on the promise to expand on the world of Horizon Zero Dawn and showcase the power of the still quite new PS5, and was rewarded with chart dominance — for two weeks, anyway.

When Elden Ring emerged the week after Horizon, the groundswell wasn't enough to knock Forbidden West off the top spot. However, the week after saw Elden Ring not only sweep the top spot from Forbidden West, but devastatingly so, amassing a player count that was 27% higher in the FromSoftware game's second week of sale than Guerrilla's effort had achieved at its peak.

Will we now see Horizon Forbidden West reap sweet justice from the bones of its launch competitor? Or shall Elden Ring continue its golden reign of terror and tarnish Forbidden West's reputation forever? The decision is yours — and by yours, I mean the community, it's the community's decision.
