While you might expect those The Last of Us Part I trophies to be absolutely brutal — like the game's PS3 and PS4 releases — you should know that the game is much more forgiving on PS5! Just look at our The Last of Us platinum trophy comparison below and you'll see why Part I won't be joining The Last of Us Remastered on our hard PS5 trophy lists breakdown.

The Last of Us Part I is much easier to platinum than TLOU Remastered

After PS Plus Extra added The Last of Us Part I in September 2024, I gave you three reasons to check the game out with your PS Plus subscription. One of those reasons was the game's easier platinum trophy compared to The Last of Us on PS3 and The Last of Us Remastered on PS4, because it really makes trophy hunting in the PS5 version a relative breeze.

The Last of Us trophies

The Last of Us Part I does away with trophies that require additional playthroughs, that are gated by difficulty settings, or require mastery of the game's (absent on PS5) multiplayer mode. These changes help make Part I at least three times easier to platinum than The Last of Us Remastered according to our various metrics here at TrueTrophies.

Where 0.5% of PSN accounts unlocked the platinum for The Last of Us on PS3, and 0.3% of players managed to platinum The Last of Us Remastered, 5.5% of PSN accounts have unlocked The Last of Us Part I's platinum trophy. It actually used to be 6.2% before the game got a bunch more players via PS Plus Extra!

There's an even greater divide if we narrow the pool down to just the dedicated trophy hunters in the TrueTrophies community. Where 10% of TT players got The Last of Us' original platinum, and 12.65% managed to platinum The Last of Us Remastered, a staggering 42.25% of TT players have unlocked the platinum for The Last of Us Part I.
Now, it's fair that these numbers are skewed somewhat — The Last of Us and The Last of Us Remastered were more popular releases than Part I, so more players likely booted up the game and failed to get the platinum.

However, given that up to five times as many The Last of Us Part I players have unlocked its platinum trophy compared to previous games, I think it's safe to say that the PS5 game is clearly the easier trophy list regardless of any data discrepancies.

All of which is great news for PS Plus Extra subscribers, because now they've got another PS Plus easy platinum to add to their collection! Are you currently gunning for The Last of Us Part I's platinum trophy on PS Plus Extra? How are you finding it? Let us know down in the comments below.
