Those Stellar Blade trophies are fast approaching and you may want to be ready to face against the many fearsome foes you are bound to come across. So we recommend learning these Stellar Blade attack combos to make your experience with the game that much smoother. If anything, it may help to keep you hyped about this upcoming PS5 exclusive.

Get prepped for Stellar Blade with this detailed combo guide

Over on Reddit, user Axyun has created an incredibly detailed combo tactics guide that details a plethora of useful information when it comes to parrying, timings, and how to pull off every possible combo in the game. You'll want to consult the full guide for a detailed description of each action worth taking, but I'll highlight some of the finer points here.

Stellar Blade Guidevia Reddit.

Axyun starts off his guide by going into extraordinary detail about timings and exactly when you can cancel your attacks to better parry your enemies' incoming attacks. In brief: in the start-up phase of any attack, even mid-combo, you can cancel out of this animation and parry. While it's certainly hard to pull off, it becomes extremely effective if you can get the hang of it. This means you could go from attacking to parrying if you are quick enough with your inputs.

Axyun further guides you through how each combo string effectively works and where the best opportunity is to activate your cancel and perform a parry. So, this way, you can attempt to make the most out of every combo available in the game and figure out the best opportunity to use each of them. However, don't be disappointed if you fail a lot in your attempts — these combos have a lot of complexity to them that will take some time investment to master.
The section of the guide that I find most interesting is the outline of how powerful each and every combo is in the game. You see, with my time in the Stellar Blade PS5 demo, I used maybe three combos in total. Two of which Axyun describes as the worst combos in the game due to their abysmal damage and, in one case, the lack of being able to follow the combo up with a Beta Skill.

Beta Skills are special attacks you can unlock as you progress through the game. The simple combo of pressing the square button four times in a row does not allow you to use one of these skills within the combo. However, Axyun states that this is the only combo that does not allow you to chain a Beta Skill.

The guide explores all ten combos that are available in the game and shows off how much damage each combo string can deal to an enemy. While you may be inclined to jump at the combos that deal the most damage and ignore the rest, we highly recommend reading all of the in-depth breakdowns of each combo so you can understand where some combos might make for a better choice than others.
While I doubt I will use this combo guide religiously, I will take note of all the different combos I could use when the full release rolls around. I will also try and make use of the knowledge Axyun has supplied about attack canceling so I can pull off a parry mid-combo. I am sure that will prove incredibly useful for me to try and take advantage of.

However, at the end of the day, I am most likely going to play the game in a way that feels most comfortable to me — be that with or without attempting to pull off all of these extraordinary feats Axyun seems to have accomplished. If I find Axyun's tips out of my league, I will just drop them as I can see them becoming more of a hindrance than of use. I will just find myself frustrated and annoyed that I can't pull off what Axyun has and it will likely sour my overall experience. Something I would definitely like to avoid.

What do you make of these Stellar Blade combo attack tricks? Will you try and implement them when you get your hands on the game? Are you still excited to check out what could be on the best PS5 games of the year? Let us know all your thoughts and feelings in the comments below!
