The Skull and Bones platinum trophy has been fixed at last — with a change of heart from Ubisoft enabling one little feature. There has never been a better time to start collecting Skull and Bones trophies now that you can complete the collection and grab that platinum swag. We can finally lift it off our list of unobtainable PS5 trophies and get back to sailing the high seas.

The unobtainable Skull and Bones trophy has been fixed

Remember Ubisoft's self-proclaimed AAAA game? The pirate one? No? Well, for the three people who actually played the game, we've got an update. The game was plagued by stormy seas from the start, with a chaotic release schedule and a disappointing launch reception. After Ubisoft bragged about the quality and scope of the game for quite some time, Skull and Bones was unfortunately pretty washed up when it arrived. Perhaps the most heinous of its crimes from our perspective was the unobtainable platinum PS5 trophy.
The trophy barring the door to the sweet platinum was 'Hello World,' a mere bronze. All you had to do was greet a fellow sailor with an "Ahoy" from the quick-chat option in a chat room. Simple. Except it wasn't.

The quick-chat option was never available, meaning one of the simplest trophies of all time remained unobtainable for a whole month after launch. The feature was disabled due to "major stability issues", something you'd think pirates would be well acquainted with
Update 1.3, which is now available to all, promises to fix everything. Group voice chat, group text chat, and world text chat have now been re-enabled, so you can make up for lost time by spamming the "Ahoy" command. Maybe they should rename it the "Annoy" command in your honor.

Skull and Bones might not be one of the best PS5 multiplayer games around, but at least now you can complete your shiny trophy collection and get back to swashbuckling. Let us know if you'll be hoisting the sail now this fix is in place.

Miri's hobbies outside of gaming inform everything about their on-screen preferences: Lots of reading, irritatingly tough puzzles, and anything vaguely historical. As such, they're always on the lookout for another Disco Elysium-type read-a-thon, a Myst-like island to get lost in, or an ancient time capsule like The Forgotten City. Other than that, if anything is being described as "weird and unsettling", it's either Miri, or their new favorite indie game.
