You know the drill, we've got a brand new Silent Hill 2 remake PS5 release date rumor for you, hot off the press. The game has been officially rated in Korea, which tells us that an announcement should be well on its way and that we won't be waiting too much longer to start stocking up on Silent Hill 2 trophies. We wonder if they'll wind up on our list of the easiest platinum trophies or not.

Silent Hill 2 remake could soon have a release date

Another day, another rumor, but this one feels pretty solid. The upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team — which we've seen footage of already, but not much else — has received an official rating in Korea (thanks Gematsu), which is almost certainly a sign of an imminent release date announcement.
We've been tipped off about releases ahead of time by a few other games recently, whether through the ability to wishlist Dragon's Dogma 2 on the PS Store, or the Stalker trilogy being up for preorder in Japan before any announcements in the West. Getting an official rating surely counts as a 99% confirmation of an upcoming announcement. However, do take a pinch of salt with you for the road.

I've already shown my hand when it comes to the remake in my article about the in-game wallpaper. My concerns about a skew toward action/combat focus and the potential lack of griminess aside, you know I'll be there on day one in my Silent Hill t-shirt ready to get weird — not least because of the Bloober Team producer's comments that the gameplay in the combat trailer was not reflective of "the spirit of the game". Whatever that means, I guess we'll soon find out.

Are you ready to step back into James Sunderland's shoes and venture through the foggy streets of the Silent Hill 2 remake? Let us know in the comments below, we'll even take predictions on release dates! Meanwhile, check out the best horror games to play on PS5 this month.

Miri's hobbies outside of gaming inform everything about their on-screen preferences: Lots of reading, irritatingly tough puzzles, and anything vaguely historical. As such, they're always on the lookout for another Disco Elysium-type read-a-thon, a Myst-like island to get lost in, or an ancient time capsule like The Forgotten City. Other than that, if anything is being described as "weird and unsettling", it's either Miri, or their new favorite indie game.
