The PS5 will seemingly get three Xbox games in 2025, two of which look like they could be instant additions to our list of the best FPS games on PS5. While we already knew about two of these games, a third rumored title has only just been revealed by a recent leak with the game apparently pushed to launch in 2025.

Three Xbox games come to PS5 in 2025 to fill up an already busy release slate

  • 2025 will see Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Doom: The Dark Ages, and now potentially Forza Horizon 5 land on PS5
  • A new leak says Forza Horizon 5 was ready for a PS5 release in Summer 2024 but was delayed
  • None of the titles have a firm PS5 release date but do add to an already packed year for big name games
A new leak (via Insider Gaming) states that Forza Horizon 5's PS5 release has been pushed to 2025. Twitter user eXtas1s' translated post explains that the port was ready to launch in the Summer of 2024 but was delayed until 2025 for unknown reasons.

This means we've seemingly got three big Xbox games coming to PS5 at some point in 2025. None of them have a release date at the time of writing, though we're sure to get one for MachineGames' next title very soon. Next year is already shaping up well, with some amazing games on the horizon, so the following are just bonuses.

Forza Horizon 5

  • Developer: Playground Games
  • At a glance: Open-world racing title set in Mexico with a massive sandbox to explore
Forza Horizon 5 is an incredible racing game with a huge open world that's packed with activities. The story drives you into every activity, be that a stunt run for a movie, a standard race across some very non-standard terrain, or an elimination match.

The world is packed with collectibles to find, including cars, jumps, and picturesque locales, but it's the freedom of the open road that really brings it to life. There's nothing like loading into your favorite vehicle for each type of terrain, be that a high-spec sportscar for roads or a meaty 4X4 for swamps, and just going without any rush or idea of where you need to be.

PS5 is already home to one of the best games in driving simulation, Gran Turismo 7. That said, Forza Horizon 5 hands you control of multiple vehicles before you're in the game proper and lets you race however you want. The two may compete in some areas, but, for the most part, they should be able to coexist on PS5 without encroaching on each other's territory. Whether PS5 owners will find room in their hearts for an Xbox racing game, however, is another thing entirely.

Doom: The Dark Ages

  • Here are the Doom: The Dark Ages trophies
  • Developer: id Software
  • At a glance: Prequel to the Doom 2016 series reboot where the iconic protagonist is used as a weapon in a medieval battle against hell
Very little is known about Doom: The Dark Ages, though it appears to take the tried and tested first-person shooter formula of the previous two titles and strips it back for a medieval war against the demonic forces of hell. While the setting seems more basic, there are still plenty of advanced weapons to blast off faces and tear flesh from bone.

The game expands the Doom universe with a story that includes cybernetic dragons, a huge Doom Guy mech, and demons wielding sword sand shields as well as lasers. It's the same blend of technology and hell you're used to from the series, but the era that technology comes from has changed. I just can't wait to ride the Doom dragon and pilot a Doom mech's fist direct into a demon's heart.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

We were elated when we saw the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 announcement because it meant we'd still get to enjoy the adventurer's latest outing. Portraying Indy's adventures from a first-person perspective, it includes all the brawling, puzzle-solving, and whip action you could have hoped for.

MachineGames appears to have done a fantastic job with creating a unique rendition of Indiana Jones in video games. The studio's first-person prowess is evident in every gameplay video, but there's a focus on archeology, fist-fighting, and traversal through ancient ruins that any fan of the movies should expect.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is out for PC and Xbox in early December 2024, so we'll know very soon how this one is shaping up. While us PS5 players have got to wait to get our hands on it until some point in the new year, everything we've seen so far makes us confident that it'll be worth it.

While they're not exclusive, these titles could be so good that they end up on our list of the best PS5 games by the end of 2025. Are you excited for these Xbox games to come to PS5, or would you rather keep them off the platform? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
