It's finally happened: PS Plus Premium has added PS2 trophies in June 2024 for the first time since the revamped service started. Not only do we have some PS2 platinum trophies to snatch up, but two of the games are third-party titles — another first for the service. We certainly have a lot of PS2 games on PS5 this month!

Tomb Raider, Sly Cooper, and Star Wars The Clone Wars get PS2 platinums

When Staff Writer Lee discussed Sly Cooper PS2 trophies coming to PS5, we didn't anticipate that Tomb Raider Legend or Star Wars The Clone Wars would receive trophies as well. Until today, only first-party titles published by Sony have received trophy support after joining PS Plus Premium. Games like Tekken 2, Toy Story 3, Alone in the Dark, and many other titles came to the service without trophies. However, for the first time, a bunch of those third-party games have now seen trophy support added!
With all of these PS Plus Extra and Premium Days of Play 2024 bonus games, Sony's annual event sure has been jam-packed. Now that third-party trophy support on PS Plus Premium, it feels like the door is open for more third-party trophy lists to come for classic PS1, PS2, and PSP games! Fingers crossed even more third-party games get trophies retroactively added.

Anyway, without further ado, let's take a look at how tough the new PS2 platinum trophies are on PS Plus Premium.

Tomb Raider Legend

I discussed in detail in our Tomb Raider Legend platinum trophy reveal article about how this trophy list in particular is identical to the PS3 version of the game. While that is a little disappointing, at least we can earn the platinum trophy twice over for this absolutely stellar game.

Of the three PS2 games coming to PS Plus Premium, Tomb Raider Legend is the toughest of the bunch. However, it's not too hard of a trophy list to work through. Sure, there is a difficulty-related trophy and some time trials to take on, but overall you shouldn't have too many issues. Also, thanks to chapter select, you don't have to worry about any missable trophies.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is the first Sly Cooper game and it's the first in the series to be available offline on PS Plus Premium. This PS2 classic has a strong emphasis on collectibles, with plenty of gold coins for us to swipe, enemies to knock out with our staff, and hell to raise while sneaking around in the shadows. I know I can't wait to dive into this title.

In terms of difficulty, there isn't much to worry about here. There are no missable trophies, no difficulty-related trophies, or trophies that will see you banging your head against the wall. Simply play the game, collect coins, take down enemies, and have a good time. This PS2 platinum trophy will be yours before you know it.

Star Wars The Clone Wars

Star Wars The Clone Wars will see you swinging lightsabers at your enemies on the ground or taking to the skies and raining down laser beams on your foes. There is a lot of carnage to be had in this PS2 classic and it all looks like an amazing time. While I may not be a huge Star Wars fan, I am definitely interested in checking this game out on PS Plus Premium.

The Clone Wars' PS2 trophy list seems really simple with a huge bulk of the trophy list unlocking for simply beating the main story. The rest of this list is made up of trophies that require you to take out your enemies in different ways, complete bonus objectives, and collect all the different power-ups. We think you'll have this platinum in your collection in no time.

What do you guys think about these new PS2 trophy lists? Will you be adding any of them to your collection? Do you think we should add any of them to our list of easy PS Plus platinums? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
