Xbox Game Pass is swiping 2023’s most underloved PS Plus game Day-one PS Plus Extra game Humanity is joining Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass in May 2024, ending the game's PlayStation console exclusivity.Lee Brady Published 30 Apr 2024 FollowtopicsHUMANITYEnhancePlayStation PlusLee Brady Despite critics loving this doggy puzzler, those Humanity trophies saw the weakest debut player count of all the day-one PS Plus Extra launch games released in 2023. That's a real shame, as it means a bunch of subscribers have yet to experience one of the best PS Plus games around! Well, now that PS Plus Extra's Humanity is heading to Xbox Game Pass, maybe this delightful indie title will finally get the attention it deserves.PlayStation console exclusive Humanity launches on Xbox in MayAs reported over on our sister website TrueAchievements, Humanity — the PS5 and PS4 puzzle game that launched day one on PS Plus Extra on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 — will join Microsoft's competing Xbox Game Pass service on Thursday, May 30, 2024. This move to Xbox consoles also brings an end to the game's year-long PlayStation console exclusivity. If you've never played the game — and, statistically, that is probably the case — Humanity puts you in the body of a Shiba Inu who must solve elaborate and esoteric puzzles by directing the flow of human traffic. Basically, it's like a modern take on the classic game Lemmings, but with an intriguingly dark story and an array of interesting puzzle twists to keep things interesting right to the end. While it's a shame that the game will no longer be so closely associated with the PlayStation brand, as a big fan of Humanity, I have to say I'm excited to see it getting a second chance at exposure on another streaming service.Despite its unique presentation, engaging gameplay, and the fact the game received all the attention due to a day-one PS Plus launch game, Humanity saw a rather average debut when stacked up against all of the PS Plus Extra games from 2023. To date, Humanity still has the weakest day-one PS Plus Extra debut performance to date (30.5% fewer active players in its first week than the next weakest PS Plus Extra day-one debut, which was Moving Out 2).Even so, I still think it's one of the best games you can play on PS Plus Extra right now. While puzzle games might not exactly be everyone's cup of tea, I think Humanity's a bit more freeform and forgiving than other games in the genre. You can kind of mess around, solve puzzles at a pace that makes sense to you, and still end up beating the game. So, even if you don't have a PS Plus Extra subscription, I really recommend checking this one out.We don't know just yet whether Humanity joining Xbox Game Pass means it'll soon be one of the games leaving PS Plus, but it does seem likely that the game might leave the service in June 2024. So, while there's still time, make sure you check out one of my favorite PS5 games from 2023! Then let us know what you thought about the game down in the comments below.More HUMANITY stories: GOTY 2023 vote — Armored Core VI fights against Humanity itself Game of the Year 2023: which PS5 games have been the best so far?
