Eager gamers who have been looking forward to collecting those Dave the Diver trophies ahead of the game's PS5 and PS4 launch will be delighted to know that the lineup for PS Plus Extra in April 2024 will include Dave the Diver on day one. The delightfully pixellated adventure drew a bunch of awards buzz back in 2023, so it's sure to rank high as one of the best PS Plus games once it hits Sony's subscription scheme.

Dave the Diver will join PS Plus Extra on day one

Announced over on the PlayStation Blog, Dave the Diver will launch on PS5 and PS4 on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and will also join the PS Plus Extra Game Catalog the very same day. The game initially launched on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2023, with a port for PlayStation consoles having been revealed back in January 2024.
For those who have never seen or heard anything of the game, Dave the Diver is a pixel art-rich life simulator in which you control Dave as he runs his own sushi restaurant. You'll catch fish, cook them up in the restaurant, serve customers, and partake in several more minigames themed vaguely around Dave's surprisingly eventful life. It's got cute characters, beautiful art, and it's sure to be a hit with PS Plus Extra subscribers looking for something original to sink their teeth into.

Just don't call it one of the best PS5 indie games ever — cute as it looks, it's not actually an indie game at all (it did manage to fool The Game Awards into thinking so, though). Will you be booting up Dave the Diver when it launches on PS Plus later this month? Let us know down in the comments below.
