PlayStation Plus September 2024's 'free' games lineup includes three PS5 and PS4 titles for Sony's PS Plus Essential tier. We're getting Harry Potter Quidditch Champions on day one, with two more titles joining the fray including the best baseball sim around and a cult favorite!

PS Plus September 2024 games for PS5 and PS4

  • Every month with PS Plus Essential you receive three 'free' PS5 and PS4 games
  • PS Plus September 2024's lineup includes Harry Potter Quidditch Champions
  • PS Plus September 2024's monthly games have been released for download as of Tuesday, September 3, 2024
As part of your 'free' games lineup for PS Plus Essential in September 2024, you have access to Harry Potter Quidditch Champions, MLB The Show 24, and Little Nightmares 2 for PS5 and PS4 as of Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Not a bad lineup, I'd say!

These three Essential tier games will be leaving PS Plus, so make sure you have them downloaded by Tuesday, October 1, 2024. This allows you to jump into the titles whenever you wish in future, just add them via the PS Plus tab on your PS5 home screen.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions

Announced as a PS Plus Essential day one game already, Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is coming for 'free' on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. It's a sports game version of the Wizarding World's favourite sport with seven players per team. Sat on broomsticks, your roles will vary from keeper to the seeker of the golden snitch, to chaotic beaters and skillful chasers.

I'm very curious about the initial reception to Quidditch Champions because that first gameplay trailer did not go down well. The game looked smartphone-orientated with its simplified graphics style and fairly clunky animation set. A few players who played the beta remarked that the way the trailers have been cut hasn't done the game justice, so here's hoping that is the case!

MLB The Show 24

This is the earliest I can remember a MLB The Show game being added to PS Plus Essential — MLB The Show 24 is a nice surprise for this month. While the world's premiere baseball sim does mean that we have a double billing of sports this month, I find it hard not to be happy about it.

Maybe it's because I'm excited to play as the Seattle Mariners for once without having to do a four-year rebuild! The point is that this year's edition is well regarded amongst fans and there is no doubt that the quality of this overlooked PlayStation Studios game remains high!

Little Nightmares 2

This little game is from the very big publisher Bandai Namco, but let me tell you that Little Nightmares II has some of the biggest fans. You'll play as Mono in this cutesy horror game as you try and escape a humming world. With Six as his guide, will Mono survive? I'll have no idea because I'll be scared in a corner somewhere but I'm sure many of you will!
