Update: The PS Plus Essential games lineup is available to download on PS5 and PS4 now (Tuesday, June 4, 2024), though rollout times in your region may vary! So, off you go, start playing SpongeBob Squarepants The Cosmic Shake, AEW Fight Forever, and Streets of Rage 4 right now!
PlayStation Plus' June 2024 monthly games have been announced as three PS5 and PS4 games some to Sony's service. However, with very little in the way of highlights, PS Plus' June lineup is looking pretty disappointing for most users.

PS Plus June 2024 games for PS5 and PS4

  • PS Plus June 2024 has three PS5 and PS4 games for the Essential tier
  • The announcement was made as part of a massive Days of Play 2024 event
  • The games will be released on Tuesday, June 4, 2024
The PS Plus Essential monthly games lineup for June 2024 has three games across PS5 and PS4: SpongeBob Squarepants The Cosmic Shake, AEW Fight Forever, and Streets of Rage 4. With the selection revealed as part of Sony's annual Days of Play event, you'll be able to grab all three games when they release as part of the celebration on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Of course, as games are added in, three games will leave PS Plus on Monday, June 3, 2024, and FIFA 24 will leave a little later on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Make sure you add all the games and expansions to your library so you can access them for as long as you have a PS Plus subscription!

Here are the three PS Plus Essential games for June 2024.

SpongeBob SquarePants The Cosmic Shake

While certainly beloved by the SpongeBob fans out there, I suspect that SpongeBob SquarePants The Cosmic Shake isn't going to get most PS Plus Essential subscribers quivering with excitement. The platformer was released in early 2023 for PS4, but later in the year for PS5, and received mixed reviews.

With its simplistic platforming, the hardy among you may want to look elsewhere. However, big SpongeBob aficionados have had a real moment with this game. It's lovingly put together and the best SpongeBob game in years, though. So, if you are a big fan of underwater life and pineapples, then it's worth checking out.

AEW Fight Forever

Uh oh! AEW Fight Forever is the newest wrestling game from YUKE. Critically, the game didn't do amazingly well — often maligned for being limited in scope. However, fans have really taken a dislike to it with its undercooked gameplay mechanics and story supposedly being a real lowlight. It's a shame because in the past wrestling and gaming have gone together like the greatest of tag teams in the arena. Now, though, the relationship has broken and soured — living on past success.

Streets of Rage 4

Almost certainly the best of the three games on offer via PS Plus June 2024's lineup, Streets of Rage 4 is a real banger. It may not move mountains for the casual audience, but stick this on with a mate and enjoy the copious amount of smashing buttons to mash your enemies to bits.

With incredibly impressive art direction and music that slays, the gameplay also happens to be solid beyond measure! There is a reason we stuck it on the best 2-player PS5 games that you can play right now.

Predictions:
  • Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection
  • Scorn
  • Viewfinder
