PS5 players are going wild for those Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trophies with the game debuting at the number 4 spot on our weekly PlayStation Chart. That said, it seems not even the long-awaited sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake can top Helldivers 2 right now, which continues to gain players four weeks on from launch. Here are the most popular PS5 games for the week ending March 3, 2024.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's PS5 player count off to a strong start

As we've previously reported, Helldivers 2 has been enjoying a PS5 player count surge for three weeks straight now, and as of March 3, 2024, we can officially say it has managed four weeks of uninterrupted player base growth. That's a feat we've not seen pulled off by any PS5 game since Elden Ring back in 2022, and it just shows how popular Arrowhead Game Studios' shooter really is (that's not even counting the game's success on PC).
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is off to a tremendous start, making it to the number four spot with only three days of sales and active player data to work with. In terms of debut player count, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arrives on PS5 with roughly 2.5 times as many players as Helldivers 2 did in its launch week. However, since then Helldivers 2 has grown tremendously in terms of active players — so much so that FFVII Rebirth can't top it at launch.

Elsewhere, we can Final Fantasy VII Remake continues to climb the charts, moving from the 15th spot to 14th. It seems like even more players have been rushing through FFVII Remake and its DLC before playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth this last week. We can also see Elden Ring's player surge continue to swell for a second week as PS5 and PS4 players prepare for the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Lastly, of all the games that have re-entered the chart this week, it's most amusing to see Powerwash Simulator continue to see love. The game's Warhammer 40K crossover pack launched on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, and it seems it's done a decent job of convincing Powerwash fans to come back to the game in droves. The DLC pack arrived with new Powerwash Simulator trophies on PS5 and PS4, so certainly worth checking out for those interested!

As for the rest, here are the top 40 most popular games on PS5 and PS4 last week.

Chart compiled using gameplay data from over 3.2 million active PlayStation accounts (not just TrueTrophies accounts). Chart information is copyright GameInsights. Regarding this data:
When an account opens a game, this is registered as a game being played. Accounts can only register a game once per week.
Our data is good for suggesting general trends — we represent this using percentages, not numbers.
