Are you one of the many players who have recently started to earn those Monster Hunter Rise trophies? The Monster Hunter Rise PS5 player count for May 2024 has risen exponentially thanks to the recent May Savings PS Store sale. The buzz surrounding this title makes us feel like we should add it to our best PS5 games list.

Monster Hunter Rise receives deep price cut ahead of next PS5 installment

  • Monster Hunter Rise sees an increase of 26% in players thanks to the recent PS Store sale
  • The Monster Hunter series has received lots of deep price cuts over the last year
  • This suggests Capcom is trying to drum up player interest ahead of Monster Hunter Wilds' 2025 release
According to our exclusive data from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts (courtesy of GameInsights), Monster Hunter Rise has seen a huge leap in players thanks to the recent May Savings PS Store sale. Monster Hunter Rise has been highlighted on the PS5 PS Store home screen at a vastly reduced price as well as sitting at the top of the sale page, being pushed to potential new players looking to check out the series.
As a result, Monster Hunter Rise has seen a whopping player increase of 26.91% across PS5 and PS4, which is a great sign for Capcom which is gearing up to release Monster Hunter Wilds in the coming months. The more players invested in the series, the more chances Capcom has of Wilds being a smash hit.

It's quite interesting how frequently the Monster Hunter series has received deep price cuts in 2024. Just looking at the discount on Monster Hunter Rise right now is pretty epic. The Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak pack should cost £49.99 / $59.99, but has been reduced to £16.49 / $19.79. That is a monstrous saving and will definitely catch the attention of players who have yet to check it out.

The Monster Hunter Wilds PS5 reveal brought huge player surges to both Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise, which were both on sale on the PS Store when the reveal dropped. Clearly, Capcom are trying to help new players get in the door, ready for the release of Monster Hunter Wilds on PS5 next year.
What do you make of the increase of players for Monster Hunter Rise? Are you a big fan of the franchise as a whole? Should we add Monster Hunter World to our list of the best PS4 games? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Chart compiled using gameplay data from over 3.1 million active PlayStation accounts (not just TrueTrophies accounts). Chart information is copyright GameInsights. Regarding this data:
  • When an account opens a game, this is registered as a game being played. Accounts can only register a game once per week.
  • Our data is good for suggesting general trends — we represent this using percentages, not numbers.
