At the end of the month, players will have the chance to get a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 skin in Marvel Rivals to make the webslinger look just like he does in Insomniac's open-world adventure game while they grind out those Marvel Rivals trophies. This is one of the best PS5 multiplayer games you can get in on in 2025, and because it's only a month or so old, this skin is just the tip of the iceberg.

Marvel Rivals is getting a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 skin to celebrate the open-world title's PC launch

  • The Marvel's Spider-Man 2 skin goes live in Marvel Rivals on January 30, 2025
  • The skin is modeled after Spider-Man's Advanced Suit 2.0
  • This is a premium skin you'll need to purchase from the in-game store in Marvel Rivals
Earlier this week, Sony announced that Marvel Rivals players will be able to purchase a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 skin from the in-game store to celebrate the open-world title's PC launch. The skin will be released on the same day as the PC port, Thursday, January 30, 2025, but it won't be free.

Marvel Rivals fans must purchase this skin from the in-game store if they want it. While we don't have details on the price, it should be between $15/£10 to $25/£20 based on the current price of skins in the game. You'll have to decide for yourself whether this skin is worth the cost. As a huge Spider-Man fan, I'd find it pretty difficult to resist if I wasn't already deeply entrenched in chasing cosmetics in Infinity Nikki.

With the release of a brand new Spider-Man skin, there really is no better time to jump into Marvel Rivals and make the most of this character. There's an entire trophy dedicated to Peter Parker's alter ego, and it's one of the more challenging in the game, with a 9.9% earn rate. Don't get too excited, though, because it's just a bronze.

Spider-Man's "Spider-Sense Tingling!" trophy requires you to detect an enemy with Spider-Sense and land a winning counterattack. Every clip I've seen of Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals shows him pulling enemies through Dr. Strange's portals over the edge of the map to score kills. It's an incredibly efficient strategy, but you're going to need to work a lot harder and less smart if you want to unlock this trophy.
The Advanced Suit 2.0 is one of the most iconic in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. I've worn it for most of my time with that game. I love the Web Wings it features because they remind me of the ancient original Spider-Man cartoon that I used to watch as a kid, but it's the Spider-Arms that automatically help you beat up thugs that make it one of the best suits Spider-Man has ever worn.

It's difficult to know if we'll see more tie-in skins like this for Marvel Rivals in the future. Obviously, there are always more Marvel movies on the horizon, but the games are far less frequent.

We'll have to wait and see what Sony decides to do, but I can't see the company that owns the right to most Marvel characters not taking up the opportunity to add more skins to the best multiplayer superhero game we've had in decades.

The support developers NetEase Games and Marvel Entertainment have given Marvel Rivals to date reaffirms that it's one of the best free PS5 games out there. Will you be buying this skin to show off when you're playing at the end of the month? Let us know in the comments.
