Secretive Sony game finally revealed as LEGO Horizon Adventures LEGO Horizon Adventures has been revealed for PS5 and Switch showcasing a game we long thought may be a next-gen remake of Horizon Zero Dawn.Kes Eylers-Stephenson Published 07 Jun 2024 FollowtopicsPlayStation 5AnnouncementKes Eylers-Stephenson LEGO Horizon Adventures has been revealed for PS5 at Summer Game Fest. What we once thought might be a remake of Horizon Zero Dawn for this generation isn't even a PS5 exclusive! The blocky reconstruction of the post-post-apocalypse will bring us LEGO Horizon Adventures trophies, but a Nintendo Switch version is coming too.LEGO Horizon Adventures is a blocky reconstruction of one of PlayStation's iconic franchisesI consider myself a bit of a Horizon series connaisseur at this point given I spent so much time with the games for our best Horizon games ranked. However, if you had asked me a few months ago if I'd have expected a trailer for a blocky recreation of Aloy's adventures to drop at Summer Game Fest, I'd have thought you were joking — let alone a Switch version. Well, here we are: LEGO Horizon Adventures is coming to PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch during Holiday 2024.Sony is publishing the LEGO-inspired adventure based on the post-post-apocalyptic world found in Horizon Zero Dawn, though Gobo Studio is developing with Guerrilla Games overseeing. Given how many people love Horizon, I'm sure this is going to be a great remake for adults to play with, though I suspect this is a coy way of Sony making its major IP appeal to kids too. It's going to be playable in solo or co-op, so adults interested in sharing game time with the kids might find that this will be one of the 2-player PS5 games that they are interested in. If it wasn't clear, the fact it's coming to Switch is probably the biggest clue Sony is looking for new audiences. In the trailer above, I have to say that the tone is pretty out of my wheelhouse. The LEGO games of old had a real knack for being a cozy kind of funny — something that felt lost with the voice acting added in later years. I can't say that I liked whatever humor was going on here. I did like the look of the actual gameplay, though.Of course, you also have to consider the actual LEGO sets that will inevitably spring out of this. Even so, the fact that Horizon is being made into a LEGO game is surprising — something I made abundantly clear when dreaming up three new PlayStation LEGO crossover games! That being said, it's all about you now! What did you think of the trailer and the reveal? Is this one of your favorite-looking upcoming PS5 games?
